close of play WI lead by 24 with 2 wickets in hand..... intriguing morning ahead.... a 50 plus lead here and England could be in trouble, then depending on how the surface holds up Could Leach have a big say in the 4th inning showdown?

99-7 third top scorer ...extras 20 !!!........ adjust that to 102-8..........................selectors need to have a good look at their thinking after the pathetic Aussie tour and now falling to a team that surely is not as good[supposedly] as England!! Should Root now relenquish the armband, again found wanting in the field, bereft of ideas

Should Root now relenquish the armband, again found wanting in the field, bereft of ideas Yep, Root has to lose the Captaincy. He should have lost it after the Australian debacle. No doubt England will make changes to the bowling line-up again. I actually think that Lees has done well. Crawley, Lawrence, Root, Stokes & Bairstow are all good Batsmen. The problem has to be a mental one. This is actually worse than what happened in Australia, as with all due respect, the Windies are nowhere as good as the Aussies.

Close of play - Day 3
England 103-8 (53 overs) Lees 31, Bairstow 22, Extras 20no, England lead by 10 runs.
This is now a big disgrace and needs an urgent overhaul, was it a mistake leaving our 2 greatest wicket takers at home.
Jimmy might be 39 but his bowling average is 26.58, Stuart Broad is 35 and his average is 27.80, but who are replacing these greats.
We have so called great batsmen in Root, Stokes, Bairstow but not a lot else who produces consistently.

Joe Root has reiterated his desire to remain England captain after his side's series defeat by West Indies.
England slumped to a 10-wicket defeat in the third Test in Grenada as their winless run stretched to nine Tests.
Root, who has been captain since 2017, has now overseen four series defeats in a row, this loss coming on the back of the 4-0 Ashes humbling by Australia.
"I'm still very passionate about taking this team forward," said Root, who has won a record 27 Tests leading England.
"I feel there's the support of the dressing room behind me and I'm desperate to see them smile and celebrating because we don't feel that far away."
England have only won one of 17 Tests going back to February 2021 - their worst run since the 1980s.
They also trail India 2-1 in a five-Test series that was postponed last summer with one game left to play.
Also
The third Test between England and West Indies may be Joe Root's last as captain, says former England skipper Michael Vaughan.
"I can just see it in his face," Vaughan told BT Sport.
"I've been in that position when it goes, and he's been the captain for such a long period of time it might be starting to come to an end for him.
"I just feel that this could be his last Test as captain."
"I just think he's frazzled," added Vaughan, who captained England between 2003 and 2008 in Tests.
"I've seen two shots in the Test - the first innings, it was a pretty good ball, but I still think that Root at his best would get away with that and this innings it was just a tired shot."

Despite his " the team are with me " crap Strauss needs to grow some and tell him (ROOT) stick to the batting and emphasise the need for a different captain who is prepared to be NASTY once in a while, Merge in either Abel of Somerset or Billings ,still young players and have the ability to organize an onfield team.
