Aussie cricket has lost one of it's greats , following a heart attack just over a week ago, aged 74 Yes, he was a great keeper that could bat as well, Played 96 tests with a 26.51 batting average, Made 3 centuries, took 343 catches and 12 stumpings. He was as tough as old boots, in the typical Aussie mould and a true legend for Australia and the game of cricket. Rod was at one time an England director and a selector who transformed us from being mediocre to challenging the Aussies for top spot during his time on the ECB. R.I.P Rod, what a team you are joining up there in the clouds.

Great Australian wicketkeeper at a time when they were a great side. Keeping to Lillee and Thomson would have kept him on his toes and I lost count in the 70s and 80s how many caught Marsh bowled Lillee we had esp against England. Played a hard game but at the end of the day he got on well with the opponents. Just google him and Botham for the best sledging ever.
RIP Rodney.

It was a record for a long time, the caught Marsh bowled Lillee quote was triumphant on 95 occasions.

Off the top of my head (and I may be wrong) but wasn't it Marsh who said to Botham, "How is the missus and my kids", to which Botham replied, "the wife is fine, the kids are retarded".
