The United Nations has recognised Forest Green Rovers as the world’s first carbon-neutral football club and it was described by FIFA as the “greenest team in the world”.
In September 2020, Arsenal fullback Héctor Bellerín became the second-largest shareholder in the club.
On 2 August 2021, Forest Green Rovers announced a new partnership with clean energy and electric vehicle YouTube channel, Fully Charged and named their pitch accordingly to The Fully Charged New Lawn.
Gloucestershire rivals Cheltenham Town are seen as the club's main rivals. Fixtures between the two sides are humorously named El Glosico, a play-on-words of the famous El Clásico fixture.
During the club's years in the non-league pyramid, the club maintained local rivalries with Gloucester City,[23] and Bath City.[24] However, following Rovers' promotion to the EFL in 2018, these rivalries are no longer competed.
Smaller rivalries have since developed with Bristol Rovers, Newport County and Swindon Town.
FGR have played their home games at The New Lawn since 2006, when they moved from their original home at The Lawn Ground, Capacity is 5,141.
Manager Rob Edwards will be 39 years old on Christmas Day, he took over in May this year, FGR are currently at the top of the table in L2.
Will be a very tough game for us, i will be pleased to bring home any points.

The scene has been brilliantly set by our Tornado. Suitably named for this weekends weather.
Those who over reacted to the midweek match damaging preparation for this must feel like chumps as now all that matters is today’s game.
In this great run we have had we have made sides at right end of table, form horses, look very average. I have it down as that, versus probably the most dangerous side in front of goal this division can throw at us. Have seen FGR live once this season when their Swindon game was on telly, and FGR looked basement class.
We will create chances. If we take them, we will pick up a cleanie less win. I wouldn’t rule out gas 3.2

In 1975 Forest Green were competing in the Gloucestershire county league while Rovers were in the old second division now Championship.
Where did it all go wrong after relegation in 1981.

When we beat FGR in the Conference playoff semis their owner said something along the lines of "We didn't make it into the football league this season and we might not make it next, but we'll make it eventually". They did and now they're sitting above us at the top of League 2.

FGR top and flying,so yet another big challenge ,but one to be enjoyed.
The noise generated by our travelling Gasheads can lift the lads.
An improvement - 'ruthlessness' - infront of goal can see us win.
Come on Gas!

Another tough match on paper, and we go into it as underdogs.. Thanks, BG.
I'm sorry, but I got to say it....take the caveat that we've actually played well last 5-8 matches, you can't bemoan the fact we can't put the game to bed when we don't have any bone fide strikers/finishers? Simply, we haven't replaced JCH that was finishing his one chance a match and winning us games and like I said at the time: we are where we are largely because of it.
That said, the passing and movement of Evans, Nicholson, Finley, Thomas is mesmerising at times and with Coutts and Whelan pressing midfield dominance, all we need is a bit of pace on the flanks and opportunities will present itself.
I'm cautiously optimistic. We can impose our way of playing, and we can break records..... with stormy conditions levelling everything out, why not squeak a surprising win?
2-1 Gas. Evans and Nicholson. Please no more injuries. If Belshaw plays, he's a legend...
Safe journey to all travelling, let's put the wind up their energy status and come back with 3 points which would even out the weeks 4 points on the road.
We can do it! UptheGas!

Yes, that’s about it. Our best month of the season mid October until now and we’ve moved up from 16th to 14th. Steady progress but not spectacular. Will need to do a lot better to worry those at the top. And it’s our problem at scoring/finishing sides off. It’s been there for a couple of years, we’ve all known that but I guess doing anything about it is harder! I actually hope Pitman plays and that he gets two chances and puts one of them away. UTG!

I don't get the FGR dislike.
Population of Nailsworth 5700 approx, population of Kingswood area 40k approx.
Its superb what they have achieved and they will have a new stadium before us.
They are above us in the football league.
Wael should be taking some advice from Vince today.
Obviously they have a demographic limit to their success, they are probably achieving the equivalent of us being top half of the premiership.

I get a set of dislike stemming from Vince himself, the way he seems to come across is not Imo one of a football person but of platitudes of self promotion in his vegan world and greenness ( everyone to their own) but .One instance during the rapid fall of power suppliers failing he was interviewed and he just sounded so smug and criticising those who had failed with the lack of awareness of the power supply situation.....just count yourself lucky not to be one of those is my view

I thought they were dirty and played crap football. There was a nasty incident in the first leg involving a player who almost scored late on. Thankfully we out-footballed them over two legs

Is it smug, or just good conservative business practice?

Brett Pitman selected. Luke Thomas on the bench. Collins on bench too. Pitman starting. Has he played for today’s opponents? Collins has. One of our coaches has?

"SOUNDED" .....i think"BULB" had done their buy cheap and store, but even with a customer base of over a million ,though they have"to an extent" been put on ice, possible to be saved ,still failed
