Apparently Wakefield is the biggest place in England not to have a professional team or never a EFL team.
Well 7 tiers down from the 4th tier WAFC are determined to change this.
Lots of interest and help from local businesses,Chris Turner involved - former pro GK - and currently playing at Featherstone Rovers RLCs ground.
Wakefield's rise maybe one to look out for.

I didn’t know that stuff. I thought that Emley FC who played at Northern Premier League level were Wakefield-based and kind of represented the Wakefield area football-wise. Have Wakefield replaced Emley and changed the name or are both clubs running alongside each other? |
