Martyn Starnes speaks on the official website today. Not exactly setting the direction but shows he’s still here. He wishes Kevin Maher good luck for the future. I hope Kevin Maher is a success at Southend and that Martyn Starnes is doing well in whatever he’s doing Has he broken cover? He knows his days are numbered and speaking for his future. No loss to BRFC though. he has seemed OK to me if Widders and him are on borrowed time, and know it, why hasn't Wael acted already do you think Pop?

No loss to BRFC though. Pop, do you mean Starnes or TW or even JB? I doubt TW will be got rid of yet. When/if the court cases go against JB then I would hope WAQ has a plan B but I’m not sure if he will have. Clint Hill, Maher may have been part of that plan B but with them leaving TW may be the last man standing if JB is found guilty. I almost forget the case against Stendl, I’d be surprised if that goes against JB but the implications of the domestic charges, what WAQ has said, the implications on our club against a possible proven domestic violence offence has enormous implications for BRFC. And it looks like everyone is keeping a low profile, except JB obviously! But you can see the pressure he’s feeling in his press conferences. And that’s part of our problem at the moment, no one is breaking cover or saying much because everyone is waiting for the result of the court cases. It must be causing instability, uncertainty and with a nearly all the staff now linked personally to JB we could be left with a very skeleton staff if the cases, or one of them go against JB. UTG!

Former Bristol Rovers director of football and interim manager Tommy Widdrington has reunited with ex-Gas midfielder Cameron Hargreaves at Aldershot Town with the duo also working together at King's Lynn Town. Hargreaves, son of former Rovers under-21s manager and Yeovil Town boss Chris, made 36 appearances for the Gas first team having joined their youth set up from Exeter City in 2017. The now-25-year-old featured briefly for Rovers in two of the three matches Widdrington took caretaker charge of during the 2020/21 season and also played under Ben Garner, Paul Tisdale and toxic turd Barton before going out on loan to Chippenham Town and King's Lynn the following campaign and then joining the latter on a free transfer two summers ago. Both the loan deal and permanent transfer to King's Lynn saw Hargreaves work with Widdrington who became manager at the Walks Stadium in December 2021 following his departure from the Gas. The 52-year-old resigned in April 2023 to become Aldershot manager where he has worked with a number of other former Rovers players brought in with the help of Head of Recruitment and ex-Gas analyst Jamie Hedges. As well as Hargreaves, the Shots have the likes of Josh Barrett and Jordi van Stappershoef amongst their ranks and have also had Cian Harries and Zain Walker on their books up until recently too.
