So his CV as manager so far is keeping Macclesfield in the League, but that was more to do with Notts Cheaty totally imploding than anything else, his record at The Silkmen was P27 W7 D11 L9, that's kind of mid-table form isn't it? And he was a complete disaster at Southend despite having half a season to turn their form around.

And I kind of think he nearly succeeded at Southend and it was just a bridge too far, galvanised them to extent but it was just too much to deal with. He will find the right club.

Shame really as I think Campbell would have been a good fit for us, better than Barton in any case. No one would have saved us from relegation last year, but we may have made a fight of it and had a better defensive organisation to the one we have currently.

Garner would probably not have seen us in the bottom 4.
