I was at Skerries Town v Waterford last week in the FAI Cup. Technically a new ground as it was played at Skerries RFC. No surprise as Waterford won 4-1 with Noel Hunt getting a hat-trick. Waterford also had a keeper on loan from Swindle and an Estonian and Latvian international, so not too bad from my adopted home as Waterford are one of the few full-time teams here in Ireland. Invite always open for a trip to Ireland!

New one for me tonight - Ashbourne Utd v Longford Town in a pre-season friendly. Only real note is that Longford are managed by Neale Fenn who was most recently at Leyton Orient as Asst. Manager

Finally got the invite to Crusaders this weekend! Our company is the shirt sponsor for Mark McCrystal Finished 1-0 to Crusaders, 90th minute goal. MM was man of the match, played at left-back. Had a great chat with him before the game and a couple of photos with my son. Nice club with a welcoming set-up. Brian Jenson (ex Burnley/WBA) was on the bench!

Pretty sure I'll do another Dublin trip in the summer, just want to try and find a three game weekend. Done Bohs, Rovers, Pats, Dundalk and the Aviva, so there's still plenty around Dublin to do. Tolka is high up the list now. Let me know....once the European games come along, coupled with UK pre-season friendlies, you can get a good run of games back to back to back. Athlone, Longford and Drogheda aren't too far either

Is it me or shouldn't Dundalk be a slightly bigger football story than it is right now? They beat Bate and are now only 2 games away from qualifying for the Champions League! Admitedly they will probably get comfortably beaten by Legia Warsaw but stranger things have happened and how extraordinary would that be?! It's a massive story, especially considering the size of the LOI. Unfortunately, the Irish don't back the LOI enough. Celtic vs Barcelona sells out the Aviva Stadium and Dundalk only get 4,645 for the biggest game in their history 100 miles away from their ground. If they do beat Legia (God, I hope they do Legia are a f******g dreadful club) it'll be the biggest achievement in Irish Footballs history. Completely agree with you. Tickets on sale from only €10 for adults and €5 for kids, so hopefully the game will generate close to a sell-out. I am sure I mentioned this before, but there is a Rovers connection with Liam Burns on the Dundalk coaching staff

Celtic v Barcelona yesterday, had the famous quarters on!! Tuesday Dundalk v BATE in the Champions League The Aviva is fantastic, one of my favourite new build stadiums. Yet to do Dundalk but I've heard good things. Went to Ipswich yesterday which, is a fantastic ground that oozes history. Was a good game with Belgians Union SG winning 2-1. We went in the away end which added to the atmosphere as the over 100 Belgians were bloody brilliant. Off to Rhodes at the end of August so hopefully either picking up Rodos FC or Diagoras (both play in the same ground at regional level). Plenty of character with Dundalk, but they play on an artificial pitch. Nice bar in the main stand as well, locals always very welcoming

Going to guess at former Loanee and Shamrock Rovers legend Gary Twigg?
The last couple of years I've had three trips to Ireland including trips to Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers, St Pats, Lansdowne Road, Crusaders and snuck in to look around Bray during the day. Dallymount is perfection, one of my favourite grounds. With the news Glentoran are moving I'll be doing a weekend trip to The Oval next season. Any others worth a visit? Derry is also on my to do list.
Glentoran are moving? When? I need to get that in before they do.
Me and my wife are holidaying in Mayo this year, she doesn't know it yet, but I am aiming to tick off Galway United & Sligo Rovers
BTW, Treharris looked like a proper ground!
You might get to see ex-lonee Sam Oji line out for Galway! Both friendly clubs, Sligo even covered us in a match day programme around 2 years ago when they were doing a feature on other 'Rovers' around the leagues

Do it! Let us know if you are coming across. Always a good time to catch games when the Champions League/Europa qualifiers start as there are midweek games in those competitions, pre-season friendlies with UK teams and if course the domestic league. If you time it right, you can get 4 or 5 games at different grounds in the same amount of days. Dundalk are in the Champions League, ground near the train station and Liam Burns (remember him?) is on their coaching staff. Nice bloke and speaks very fondly of us I've got a matchworn Liam Burns shirt!
I doubt I'll be across this summer (spending all my money at the Euros), do need to get across soon though!
I must tell him that!! I have a match worn Gary Twigg one.. Was at the Ireland v Netherlands game Friday night, quite a low attendance considering it was the Irish 'send off' match, only a few hundred Dutch fans as well. This Sunday off to Cabinteely v Drogheda Utd in the League of Ireland Division One
