I have not even been asked to show my vaccination card nor have I been asked if I have done a lateral flow test. Given the rates of infection, has anyone been asked or checked on this or is it taken that it’s your responsibility to make sure you are free from covid ? I know it would be a pain but surely it’s something that should be taken more seriously. I’m not clear on if the club should check or whether it’s up to us

Well, we are certainly not following any of those guidelines. I’m very surprised if honest as i thought it would be taken more seriously

The club announced previously that there would no longer be any need to show proof, in line with most, if not all, other league clubs.
Do you ever have anything positive to say about the club?

Yes, I saw the updated info. It's a shame the EFL didn't come up with a policy that all clubs could abide by. It was stupid that for the first few weeks of the season clubs operated under different rulings causing confusion for those who support home and away.

Nope. No checks. No masks. No tannoy announcements giving instructions.
Football is back to pre-Covid normality within The Memorial Stadium.

Should it be that way though when there's still upwards of 40,000 new cases a day? From my experience virtually nobody is wearing a mask at present, so it makes it pointless for me to wear one as I'm only going to protect the non mask wearers not myself from catching COVID.

Not strictly true, you'll still give yourself some protection by wearing a mask. Of course the percentage of protection goes up if the person near you wears one too, but just because others don't wear one shouldn't stop you if you wish to give yourself some protection. There are a number in the East Stand still wearing one. Sainsburys on Saturday morning still had over 80% wearing a face covering. I saw a video of Sabadell over the weekend, and it appears a lot more supporters there were wearing masks.

Not sure the usual black masks sold in supermarkets etc give the wearer any protection, Sainsbury's like Waitrose seems to attract an older (& more affluent?) customer than the likes of Tesco's and Aldi/Lidl, it's probably down to 20% now or even less wearing masks in the latter. It'll be interesting to see how the number of positive cases pans out once children return to school & students to college and winter sets in.

The steward who asked to see mine, gave my mobile the most cursory glance possible. He could have been looking at a picture of Bambi Woods and Ron Jeremy, but he waved me through. The club then decided that they weren`t going to ask anyone to provide proof of vaccination. Probably just as well; can you imagine the chaos? We`d probably still be queueing up to get into the Stevenage game.

I am paying the price of the complacency and I’m bloody angry about it. I feel so ill right now.

Thank you, I started feeling rough the next morning and my throat was on fire so i did a lateral flow test and it showed + straight away, thank god for the vaccinations or I’d be very worried right now. 10 days isolation and i feel stupid. I know its asking a lot of the club but i do feel some checks should have been made but it wont change things now. I am hoping that, because I’ve completely lost my taste and smell, that i will have a short period of this as those that know, say that if you have this as one of the first things, its normally a shorter period of feeling rough.

With you all the way KP .I just feel we are all too complacent at the moment .I have a seat in the West Stand but feel very uncomfortable sitting shoulder to shoulder in a covered area so I have been buying an open air terraced ticket
Friends have told me to "man up" but I am a long way from that point of view at the moment

Myself and my wife both had it last November and thankfully neither of us suffered more than what felt like a bad hangover. We both lost our sense of taste and smell and my wife's sense of smell hasn't fully returned 10 months later.

I’m bored stiff already but i will stick to the isolating as I don’t want anyone else to suffer. I have to have a PCR TEST later but me and the good lady are both unwell. She isn’t happy to say the least. I’m also very dizzy but she has the cough while I haven’t

I drank gallons of tea, don't know if it helped but I never felt so ill that I was concerned.

Just hoping it doesn’t get to my respiratory system as i have underlying conditions so i need to be mindful and react quickly if things change. I thought I’d gotten away with it 😆. Pesky virus

Get well soon.
Are you sure that you caught Covid on Saturday? Would it show in a test the next day? Genuine questions and no desire for a row.
