I know it’s been a long weekend, but is this really the best you can all do?
This is a football thread, not B***** thread, talking about a team as a jigsaw.
And there is still time in window left.
Look at what Lukaku brings to Chelsea. They knock the ball into his feet and he is strong. Similar in a way to what Jono brought to us. And we went from looked like relegation to safety, not just his goals, but as a ball holding, ball giving outlet.
Unless you are playing over top and chase long ball game, so much of football is about holding it whilst you transition, in other words others make runs or get into space.
Ball winners win it, and unless they can win ball like Kante and spray it like Platini, they then give it to creative players or passers, who are waiting out wide, or sitting deep like Pirlo. And you don’t necessarily have to have goals from all over the pitch, you got finishers you then set them up.
Yesterday Joey used a wing back system without wing backs, unsurprisingly didn’t go very well, so if Joey wants to play back three quite regurlay, do we need wingbacks to come in?
Do we need any more ball winners? Do we need to bring in passing ability?
Are the centre backs and forwards good enough? Do we have enough forwards and enough goals in the team?
Are we lacking something different that sets it all off. The missing piece in the puzzle.

Before we get too excited about Lukaku, he's played 1 game, against a dreadful Arsenal with a manager who wouldn't last 10 games in the Championship before he was kicked out. I watched that game today, how Arteta just sat there and persisted with a back 3 which allowed Chelsea to pull all the defenders to their left then attack down the right, well, that in itself should get him sacked, then layer on top of that not telling a midfielder to go stand 10 yards in front of the D to cut out the balls to Lukaku's feet, seriously, Arteta isn't a manager. It may be that Lukaku does terrorise decent teams, but most teams are going to give this version of Arsenal the runaround.

If Lukaku is the final piece of the Chelsea Jigsaw puzzle, what can be final piece of Joey’s Great Reset? You are utterly deluded if you think Rovers are missing a 'final piece' of the jigsaw. You are also a fraud Sir, there is no emperorsuperbus. Lucius Tarquinius Superbus (died 495 BC) was the legendary seventh and final king of Rome. Augustus was the first Roman Emperor 27 BC. Perhaps you are gaining inspiration from Emperor Nero? Anyway - back to your jigsaw analogy. In very high winds we took a jigsaw to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, opened the box, and threw it in the air. We are now missing all the pieces. Resetv2 starts when Joey and his hangers on from the north west have left the building. No amount of tinkering, or signing more of Joey's mates, or aging strikers that can't get a gig at Gloucester City will help. Poor squad, poor manager. 4 down in 24 minutes to a team that hadn't scored in it's previous 3 league games. No need to over-analyse a turd. It's still a turd.

Ah. I sense you are all in a volatile mood to talk football, with how the season has started.

I suppose we can keep changing managers....... At some point we will need to go with someone and give them time to prove or otherwise. I personally am tired of the rebuild process starting every few months. We should have allowed Clarke to rebuild and we didn't, 4 managers on, as controversial as he is, I want to stick with what we have now, watch some football and pray we get progress. Do I want it immediately, of course, am I willing to watch some growth and improvement for a push in the near future, I have to say I am. As for your turd stuff and so on, that is fine, I have seen us with plenty of those over the years. Oh for some harmony, our fan base has followed the management and behind the scenes stuff and is no longer as one, if we can at least get that back we can become a proud club again even with the limited success we have had over all time. I have always been proud to be Rovers regardless of the shocking times and standards, our fans were the envy of so many so say bigger clubs, that's what I want and miss most of all.
