It’s a bit worrying that are whole attack is relying on a 33 year old player I think he is a good player but at his age will probably spend quite a lot of time on the treatment table

If he’s on £3k per week that’s quite a few grand p1ssed against the wall already. I’ll bet his agent couldn’t believe his luck when he managed to dump that ageing, overweight, unfit waste of space on us.

That BP will play only 15/20 games. Still, if we then managed to win those games, that would be 45/60 points towards at least survival or midtable.

I think that looking around local football could find a big strong old fashioned centre forward. Of course some Rovers supporters didnt like Graham Withey because he only scored goals and didnt do anything else...lets find someone else like that.

And that useless player, Cureton, was a lazy bar steward 😂

There is a risk, as there is with all players and I would agree that we need at least one other striker and preferably 2 in the building if Hanlan leaves.
I also think our goal-scoring problems are about more than one striker and have a lot to do with our tactics/ pattern of play.

Stevenage didn't exactly have a huge centre forward they just got more players in a forward position and that is where our tactics are falling short. We had the best player on the pitch yesterday in Anderson but we also had the four worst defenders when it came to passing accuracy and two midfielders who produced very little- Grant and Hargreaves. We rarely got anybody up front apart from Saunders who had no chance. Our system is just too easy to stop.

But that's my opinion,

If we're relying on Brett Pitman to score us enough goals to be safe in Division 4, then we have hit rock bottom.
Please can we poach the Port Vale manager?

In the scenario he gets fit-ish and remains fit (the big concern) he'll score 15 to 25. Might be worth a £10.😏

What is pitman's injury and how was it caused? Reported that he turned his ankle over in training. Surface was too good apparently.

Brett Pitman at the warm up yesterday...
He was just shuffling around, like an old bandy legged guy with rickets. And every exercise the team were asked to do, Pitman could only manage to bend or stretch around a fifth of what the rest of the team did.
I just assumed he'd been asked to do a gentle warm up with the others, as he gets himself back to fitness. Was amazed to see his name appear on the team sheet for the subs bench, and even more so when he came on!
Well fair to him for putting himself up for it.
Wasn't there an interview with JB last week, when he said it would be another couple of weeks for the injured players to be back, and joked that the Medical Team would say a couple more weeks on top. And I thought there was an interview last season, of complaints that players were playing who weren't fully fit.

Having watched him shuffling around during his cameo appearance last night, no thanks. He seemed to have trouble getting up to any speed beyond a gentle trot. I half expected to see him keel over with a heart attack at any moment. I hope they’ve got a couple of those defibrillators to hand near the touch line. They may need one.
