As the underrated song by Gabrielle goes, but replace me with it 😊..
Yesterday wasn't terrible all things considered. I would have taken a point before the game with all the injuries we have, we will now have our captain out for 3 games on top of that. Trevor Clarke had to go off early. Luca Hoole isn't ready on that performance. The main decisions in the game could have gone either way. We've had a disrupted pre season on and off the pitch. Losing 2-1 away to a full strength Mansfield side who I fully expect to be up there is not the end of the world.
I didn't think we would start the season particularly well but do think we have recruited well this summer and will grow into the season.
It's worth bearing in mind we're likely to be without the following players that would like be in the first 11 or at least off the bench
Nicholson Trevor Clarke Finley Pitman Collins Rodman Hanlan

I think it's pretty strong. Any team will struggle with all those injuries. I would like another striker and RB.

I agree with this statement 100%. We were a fraction away from a decent away point. The team will get better. No doubt.
There is a however...
The fact that we have started the season with so many injuries / lack of fitness is 100% down to the manager.
I was also very concerned with the red card and yellows that we were given yesterday. I have not seen the incidents but we cannot be giving referees the opportunity to send our players off. Not a good start considering our injury crisis.
The JB post match interview made me cross. Just like last season, it is all the referee's fault. That excuse has worn thin with me. The standard of referees will be lower this season due to us being in division 4. It's something we have to dealt with.
Our management team and players should be able to cope with division 4 football. They have been recruited to get us promoted. That means rubbish pitches, aggressive opponents and poor officiating.
Looking forward to Stevenage and three points. UTG.

Replace Gabrielle with The Chairman of The Board, and I'm with you.

Luca Hoole isn't ready on that performance. I couldn't disagree more. His performance from first whistle to last was excellent. He knew when to play a safe ball back to Hughes when required, but going forward he combined well with those around him like Thomas or Anderson. Anssi often targeted him from goal kicks and, with his height, he won 80% of those balls. He was under pressure occasionally from the Mansfield left wing, but - alone or in tandem with Anderson - coped well and blocked more crosses than his predecessors from squads over the last few years. In my book he should be a definite starter. The only caveat would be whether at 19 years old he can sustain that level of performance; he might need a rest after a few games - we'll see.

Agree with GM1. And where was Ryan Jones?
Luca was my joint m o m with Anderton. Hughes as well, but he was punished for pen.
I liked Luca aerial ability and just kept his passes simple. He also aided set pieces by being part of the force moving forward into the box....if he gets enough run of games, he'll definitely have scoring opportunity if he continues his form.

Chris Lines( booked) played well yesterday it seems and will be at the Mem on Sat.Rare bit of class in a sea of mediocrity for us so hope he gets a warm welcome but is on the losing side as we need to play well in that fixture.GC didn't seem to like Linesy and I am aware he is a 'Marmite' player.

We won the midfield battles without Chris. That's why GC preferred others. In a nutshell Chris is good on the ball, but not good when the opposition have it. So some Managers can fit him in, others not.

Stay calm. Manner of defeat sounded poor last night but we have to give it time with all the injuries we have. I will reserve judgement.

The current manager continued in a consistent manner with his comments about the game last night.
"It's everyone else's fault".

Delegation of Responsibility.
It's early days this season. Imaging the culture of the first team if we are still losing after a dozen matches and with B***** thinking more and more about his meetings with the Judge (and I don't mean Billy Clark).

The current manager continued in a consistent manner with his comments about the game last night. "It's everyone else's fault". There was a new time perspective... Flick a switch 3-4 months. Sorry Joey, the ratio of spoken words to points must be the highest in football history!!!! 10 games for some normality in points achievement or bye. Let's see how hungry your assembled squad is to dig you out of your current abyss.
