Early odds from a couple of bookies. Obviously there will be the addition of Morecambe or Newport County. Salford 6-1 Bristol Rovers 9-1 Exeter 12-1 Mansfield 12-1 Swindle 14-1 Tranmere 14-1 Forest Green 14-1 Bradford 14-1 Northampton 16-1 Rochdale 16-1 Port Vale 20-1 Harrogate 20-1 Carlisle 20-1 Orient 20-1 Walsall 20-1 So it looks like it will be quite an open field. Oddschecker do good reviews, they tipped Cheltenham to win at 16-1 last season! www.oddschecker.com/tips/football/accas/20200909-867-1-league-winners-accumulatorI don't endorse gambling. I am just fascinated with odds. I very rarely bet on football. Only bet what you can afford to lose. When the fun stops, stop.

I don’t know why we are so short with half the squad still here that finished bottom of L2?
If we had signed 3 or 4 already I could maybe understand it.

This is what happened last time we were relegated to L2, and that went real well as I recall.

Blimey, when I watched the Class of ‘92 I didn’t seriously think that we’d be in the same league within 4 years. And even below them in the odds, what a complete mess we’ve become. UTG!

No fallen 'giants' in the division next time.
In the scenario Joey signs most of the players he's after, then I think we'll challenge.
I'll be happy to wager £100 Rovers don't get relegated

I'll get the club promoted if I'll allowed to sign the players I want. The club will lose probably £5~6m in the process. Any fool can buy their way out of L2.

Yet still plenty of people seem to think that the direction of travel which started 5 years ago and has been gathering pace will suddenly turn 180 degrees. I hope they are right.

I'm not really saying it's a great way of indicating what the odds are of Rovers getting relegated... But. Man U are 8-1 to win the Premiership and 1000-1 to be relegated. Let me know if you fancy offering me 1000-1 on Rovers getting relegated

So 3 out of 11 = 0.273 ie. roughly a 1 in 4 chance of relegation (based on that time frame). And we're 2nd favourites at 9-1 to win the Division. When we have no idea if Mr B***** will still be manager, or what sort of quality players are coming in. Something doesn't quite add up.

How sad that we are discussing where we will finish in the lowest division.
Who thinks we have any chance of getting out of the pit any time soon? or even surviving long enough into the next season?

Fancy throwing down the gauntlet of a wager, on a thread about what the bookies think! Not every thread has to be about 'how poorly Rovers are run' and how much some are 'disgusted' by Joey B*****. The bookies fancy us. I think we'll challenge. £100 says Rovers won't go down. Any 'disgusted'- or nondisgusted - want a bet?

It would be foolish for anybody to place a wager at this stage without know who the manager will be and whether the recruitment will be as shambolic as it was last year, so what part Widdrington is allowed to play in it could also be very important. Thirdly. A thread about how we are going to get on against Salford, Harrogate and Barrow has got everything to do with the mess we find ourselves in.

Bookies rate our chances,as I do. Did you see any of the L2 play offs. All the sides had better players than we got. They all had better forwards than we got. Matt is better than anything we got. the forward power of the other sides against our lack of forward power at first glance makes a mockery of the bookie odds, but at second glance it’s canny, very little difference between them, as someone remarked bookies see it wide open, not many very short. I think you are being unfair to Joey Bas, that he will just go out there and pluck all this low hanging fruit into his basket - it might be very difficult to recruit stand out players? He might just make a bigger squad of much of a muchness, being the danger?

Should easily be favorites imo Based on what, blind faith? * We have retained 50% of the players who performed so abysmally this season * We have no idea who new players are or what quality they will be * We don't know what (if any) budget we have to build a new team (and let's be honest it has to be a huge cleanout) * We don't even know if we will have a manager by the middle of June It's a total cluster&$*k. At this stage, I have no confidence we are going to bounce straight back to L2. On the contrary, I'd be more tempted to put money on us paying another visit to the National League.

An evens bet does not reflect what the bookies will be offering.
