Rare interview with a very subdued Martin Starnes. He blames the refs partly!!! Says we were too lightweight up front and lacked physicality.Pity he and BG didn't read the Forum last August!!!! Seems we had a Jan striker lined up who chose to go to Charlton instead even though we offered more dosh.Maybe he had an aversion to tents!!!! No question or mention of any ground improvements.

He called him Joe too and believes he has what it takes to get us where we want to be. Good luck with that one. I’m so underwhelmed by the way this season has been managed, especially the appointment of B*****, that I’ve lost all my enthusiasm and identity with the club. It’s not my Rovers anymore.

I thought he said Peter Ridsdale. He's an advisor to the owner at Preston North End. Formerly at Leeds and a number of other clubs.

As CEO, if you have doubts over the composition of the squad and the lack of goals at the start of the season, you should step in and say so. If Widdrington claims he had doubts, Starnes claims he had doubts and presumably Wael had doubts why was nothing done?
It seems to me like we got very complacent, convinced ourselves it was going to be a multi-season project hence Starnes mid table league one comment and allowed inherent weaknesses in the squad manifest themselves under an inexperienced young manager whilst stashing the JCH money away so the balance sheet could look better.
I don’t think they fully grasped the full severity of the situation in January either, our eggs were all in the basket of bringing Stockley to the club, that fell through on the 22nd of January, we then had a week and a half to bring in someone else, even a loan would’ve been better than nothing. Very poor.

Or they made the mistake of believing the manager knew what he was doing and left him in sole charge. Good to know they've learnt that lesson ...

It sounds as though the club house is going to be completed to the original plan but with the inside fitted out in line with Wael's revised design which has only been made available to fans via a blurred image taken from Womble's phone.
Then, provided the revised plans are approved, at some time in the future it will be partially knocked down and rebuilt to increase the size.

Yes, that's what happens if you try to turn your hand to hard structures, should have stuck with what we know and erected a tent.

I am sure the man from Jordan will discover that you are not the only one come August, and that the money he is paying the members of the BOD doing what used to be done by volunteers is wasted - but I suppose easy come - easy go. Except of course easy go goes a lot quicker than easy come!

Yes but included in that figure are fans like me who are unhappy with the way the club has progressed/regressed.Owners and managers come and go but the fans are the only constant and, for some, our support is unconditional
