* Consistently challenging for promotion out of L1 * Goals in the team every season * Excellent sales and development strategy - particularly with strikers
With our fan base and potential revenue streams, is this realistic?

I'd probably aim to be Brentford or Leicester, to be honest. Peterborough are consistently a bit s**t.

We need to aspire to be our own team and make people aspire to be like us, the great BRFC.
Consistency is the key word, if you keep up a level of play you will win more than you lose.
There are 6 places up for grabs, we got 6th place in 2006/07 on the last day and went up.
We then finished 16th, 11th & 11th until we bombed out in 2010/11, we have to get that back again.
We have finished 10th, 13th, 15th & 14th in the last 4 seasons, all mid-table ish endings.
Not good enough for us imo, we want a play-off place at least and why not ? we are BRFC.

I think Peterborough is what we used to be.
In the late 1990's, we were consistently challenging for promotion from the 3rd tier: four times in six years in the top 10, twice in the play-offs, once at Wembley. We scored a lot of goals - and conceded a fair few. Going from the late 1990's into the 2000's, we sold four strikers for over £1m. The key difference with Peterborough is that they have a plan to move into a new stadium by January 2023 "subject to the necessary funding, planning permission and construction timetables". What could possibly go wrong?

Without wanting to labour the point about the board, I can’t see Widdrington or Starnes being good enough for Peterborough. The scouting and general decision making is just as important as any other aspect of wanting to be a team that performs in the league whilst giving young players a chance to get some experience. So no, I don’t think what we are trying to achieve is realistic at the moment because we just aren’t enough of a well oiled machine yet in key positions.

Probably and they are a selling club. The profit they make which they reinvest keeps them near the top.
