Well remembered all - the other Goal scorer was Vaughn Jones - Malcolm Alison was a larger than life character, It looked like a marriage made in heaven - can anyone remember why Alison was not with us for very long?

I was correct with "the other goal" Tote-End 4.Billy hit a screamer from maybe 23/5 yards. Pre game I remember Malcom Allison told the lafs to "shoot on sight" .They did.Rarely have we scored 4 goals of such quality in one game, especially against City. I can't remember why Malcolm Allison left us though?

Here we go again! TWW/HTV selected matches between local rivals to give 's viewers a taste of local football. So the outside broadcast vans parked up at Rover's City or Swindon on a Saturday for the highlightsof the match to be transmitted on Sunday afternoon. Roger Malone fecorded the live match comentary. The recorded tapes were brought back to the studios nd edited down to fit the one hour transmission slot. I was often the tape editor on the day. Now why it backfired! Vitwers were used to watching 20 odd international footballers plying their trade in the first division. The local mat hes by comparison were pretty dire.Even chopping half of the play way dtillmade it hard to get excited about. Poor old Roger Malone took the stick. He was the sport editor for the Daily telegraph. He was handed a bum steer, but made the6best of a bad deal.Nice bloke as well.

My own favourite bit of commentary at Twerton provided by Rovers by Screen Soccer. Rovers attacking. I think it was Billy Ocean - he had just rounded the keeper: "And he shoots, he's gonna score, and he does! nt." (Ball squirms wrong side of the post).
