I got the following via PM;
Good Evening,
Our writer hasn't gone to all of that effort for someone to simply copy and paste the article and not generate clicks for Vital Lincoln City.
I would like to request that the post is edited so that the article isn't included within the thread.
Thank you, Jules.
it seems to me that if he wants clicks, he should stick to his own forum and not come on here looking to borrow some from us
a real football fan wants to share the knowledge, not count the clicks
I shall be avoiding in future

Vital Lincoln's posts are now deleted. Either that or you've all replied to ghosts.

Not the best of starts eh VitalLincolnCity, shame as I found it a really interesting article. If you hadn't noticed this is a football forum, guess what we chat about? I've had a look and there is no copyright claim on the article if there were then it would have been taken down ASAP. Anyway, it's gone now so problem solved.

Not me personally but may have been one of the other mods.

Well that was a storm in a tea cup! Admittedly Vital was slightly confrontational when he made his complaint but now none of us can see the article, which was actually quite good. I'm not sure this forum is busy enough to be deleting good posts when they do come along

PS Jules - suggest you f off back to your own forum Crikey AMPG - language! I'm shocked. I guess you can take the boy out of Banjo Island, but you can't take Banjo Island out of the boy :-) Hanham, my arse.

If we have people using that sort of language here in Hanham then I shall be bringing it up at the next residents meeting! I suppose this is what happens when you allow Banjoers to move in

Bit behind, but generaly fora etiquette is if you copy an article please provide a link to or credit the originator.
Not always easy that as lord knows how many articles are copy and pasted from one website to another claimed as somebody's own

I haven't checked in here, hence saying I'm a bit behind.
My post is more of an FYI for anyone. I have no idea what you did or didn't do by the way, so not trying to slight you.
It appears that said person has got a bit arsey and precious over their content. I doubt anyone here thinks you would be trying to pass it off as your own or anything

As far as I remember, not only did AMPG provide a link and cite the author, he also added value by highlighting (in bold blue text) the most relevant paragraphs. To me, that followed old-school etiquette, which would be appropriate in print media as well as on the internet.
The original author seemed to be more concerned about losing out on "clicks"...almost akin to demanding payment for providing unsolicited content.
I'm with AMPG on this!

I believe in payment for copy. Or music, or whatever. But the internet is the public domain. Sell a book if you've got it in you. But don't cry to me when the ASCII characters (or whatever they are these days) you left online free for all and sundry to see without payment get quoted and pasted. I don't care about clicks. And nor should you. Get a job.

To use the work of someone else in its entirety (even with a link) is debatable. Vital Lincoln may be paid for the amount of clicks they get, to recompense them for their work. Sounds OK to me. To quote parts of it (attributed), also seems fine. To quote all of it and therefore deny the writer any potential revenue is 'sub-optimal'. And then tell the writer to f off? Goodness gracious. But I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of anyone from the Banjo, so I'll leave it at that. It's that sort of person who would storm the Peterborough home end and cause havoc with the stewards.

Have been away so not quite sure what all this is about (as didn't see the original thread). I did get a message request to delete the threads from the Poster though. It seems to have already been done by someone else. I can understand why they might have deleted it to be honest based on the message that was sent to me but it's a fairly bizarre way to behave if you are trying to bring attention to your site in my opinion.

I received the same message but it was already deleted when I came to look at it. May have been the OP who deleted it himself. Regards
