The club needs the income from the tournament, especially next game (s). Fans, in the main, need the excitement.
Dilema?

I would (will ?) watch Rovers play on the Downs,I wouldn't and never have watched them at Wembley as I think that only Cup Finals and England international games should be played there. Years ago the old stadium had history and was somewhere special to English football supporters, now its just another new ground like Coventry,no atmosphere and so many teams (even non league) have played there its no longer a special occasion. I actually hope that Rovers lose this semi final (the first time that I have wanted Rovers to lose in 50+ years) the thought of the presidents gloating face at Wembley turns my stomach !

Does Admin ban people who have tickets for the semi final?
Luckily, I only bought one.

Assume you didn’t attend Wembley finals in 90, 95 and more recently 2007 & 2015 because of Higgs gloating face?! Personally wouldn’t ever wish us to lose a competitive fixture in any situation, least of all because someone else might end up enjoying the occasion (albeit not as much as the rest of us, but I digress)

He's going! "Shaun Harvey EFL Chief Executive to leave role at the end of the season" "Shaun's redesign of the Checkatrade Trophy has been a valuable tool for giving game time to young English talent from our academy system". Link to BBC Sport article announcing Shaun Harvey's intention to quit as CEO of the Football League
I [GasMacc1] remain of the view that the changes to this competition could be the first step to inclusion of B teams in the lower leagues. That would destroy the integrity of the Football League and, through the consequent devaluation of the League matches, towards the demise of clubs, like Rovers, who have normally played at the lower corners of the Football League pyramid.

The best way to unify all lower league supporters and to realign is to change the policy regarding the format of the full members cup.
So, while Harvey is going, his replacement is of paramount importance moving forward.
My guess is it won't make much difference, but we can hope.

[br I agree...Harvey has been a tool I believe that the format will not be changing for at least another season. PS I agree with Cornwall having seen Harvey talking at an event and as mentioned before, although very long, the EFL questionnaire (now closed) gave me a few chances to say that and also bash the Checkatrade, not that any one will listen.

Good riddance. Sadly I don't think it will matter who replaces him. The EFL is just a puppet of Sky TV/Premier League. If the Premier League thinks the Checkaturd Trophy is "a good idea", then it will continue in it's current form. I 100% agree it has the potential to allow B teams into the EFL. As this represents an opportunity for Premiersh*t Clubs to make more even money - then the introduction of B teams remains a distinct possibility. Anyway, f*c* off Shaun.

So FA CEO resigns, Prem guy going with lined up replacement backing out, EFL clown leaving and PFA in a little turmoil, where are the leaders in football? And as for our owner, well...
