Surely the easiest transition from DC is GC?!
Plain yet effective.

GC in. I much prefer GC than Flynn. And some of the others names knocked about. Welcome, gaffer! It's just... I was hoping to appoint an experienced at this level candidate with maybe a little success. Jury out for me, the analogy is I feel like it's a case of marrying the school nurse when you've been beaten up by some of the big boys, and a little boy or two ... ! Jurys out for me too. I haven’t taken to Cocko at all as yet. He’s clearly kissed the Blarney Stone and talked his way into this job. The little up spike in form should count for nothing at all in the deliberation, that often happens when manager leaves and whoever’s stuck in charge. It’s Fools gold to fans and owners. Even if he keeps us up, which I am not too sure about with this squad, its still jury out. When Ward returned we perked up big time after Christmas look where we were 12 months later. What happened is clear, Ward went to board reporting the window just shut and I failed to do any business. The clubs below us fighting for their lives done fantastic business, Coulthirst for Torquay turned us over single handed. I fear twelve month from now we will look back realising needed proper manager with a proper vision thing, a man who can hold a dressing room through a slump, has the contacts, can build and galvanise a squad. I enjoyed the win over Fleetwood, didn’t we all, but it wasn’t a convincing performance, perfect storm to get man advantage and score with last kick. If the whistle wasn’t blown on the Burton game they would still be out there now trying to score, in part due to Cocko liking to play about 9 defenders in each team. Whilst Martin in front of Kelly is going on someone like Mathews who can open Burton and their tactics up didn’t get a start. Anyone saying his advantage is he is internal knows the club? He only joined in the summer. As defensive coach. Now the crummy goals we have conceded, silly deflections etc, since Cocko joined club have been defence sitting too deep without their mf closing down quickly enough in front of them. I’m not simply against everything. I think we could have gone down the DoF route, like Brentford. Someone with proper contacts, proven for vision in the DoF and someone like Cocko on probation in the Head Coach gives me better feeling the bases are covered. Someone like Holloway as DoF, Cocko as head coach till end of season, I would have been happy with that approach. Cocko would have bitten their hand off if offered that wouldn’t he? I think top priority is squad needs major wheeling and dealing, I would rather have an olly than a Cocko doing that wheeling and dealing. Also that crucial interface between manager and owners, between what squad needs versus those holding purse strings. Us fans needs someone knows how to is prepared to cut the board without bleeding, rather than feeling in debt to them. I don’t like invisible owners at all, taking us backwards. Don’t like the Chairman, the CEO. Don’t think much of the squad, strikers who start games and don’t score (Nichols), defensive midfielders who have given defence no cover(Upson). And now I don’t like the gaffer, what he says, how he says it. I don’t trust any of these people to have the club and fans at heart. Feel quite flat about all this. Kind of feels like a club going backwards in everything its doing. Not a good time to be a passionate gas head. He didn't talk his way into the job,he got the job because of an unlikely upturn in results. The "little spike in form" often simply does not happen. Whats a "proper manager?" ,we can only get an experienced manager with failures to his name, its hardly a job for a high flyer. Regarding the interface between the board and manager, right now we don't need another manager complaining about the budget,we just need someone to work within the budget and the SCMP rules which we know the club adhere too. Which games did he play 9 defenders in? Most people have been impressed by holmes-dennis even though he has played left-wing instead of his natural position. Not sure what people expect really? We have a mid table budget and a 27 man squad. Coughlan has served his time as no 2 or no 3 at clubs and took his chance at rovers. Nobody knows what will happen next but the same thing applies if any of the other realistic candidates were appointed. Not so long ago i was a non league gashead hoping to get back in the league in 3 or 4 seasons like luton town but hey ho were in league one!!

Well said Vertigo. With GC it sounds like we’ve got a manager who wants to manage. If we have 27 players then I would expect to prune at least 4/5 of those and the number might explain why we have a mid table budget but we’re near the bottom of the league, too much spent on too much mediocrity. Good luck to him, I hope he will manage without everyone pouring over every decisions makes. Blimey, we’re BRFC not Man U so supporting is a struggle but that’s why those special moments are so special. Two promotions in two years will live long in the memory and I bet they meant more to us because of our struggles. UTG!

Anyone got a clue what’s after the 1/4 final later for the winner? Is it Semi final, two legged area final & then Wembley?!
Just wondering.

Anyone got a clue what’s after the 1/4 final later for the winner? Is it Semi final, two legged area final & then Wembley?! Just wondering. I think there's a change this season; after the current round, it's no longer regional. I'm sure I've posted something along these lines before, but can't remember the details!! I'll check and get back to you. Update: 5.1.3 Round of 16.
(i) The 16 winners from the Round of 32 will contest the round of 16.
(ii) The round of 16 pairings are determined by means of an unseeded draw but on a regionalised basis (North and South). The League shall determine the placing of Clubs in each of the two regions prior to the draw.
...
5.1.4 Quarter Finals.
(i) The eight winners from the Round of 16 will contest the quarter-finals.
(ii) Quarter-final pairings are determined by means of an unseeded draw. There will be no regionalisation of the draw.
