Obviously couldn't find Michael Flynn's wife a job in the Bristol area. I feel sorry for Mrs Flynn, she obviously gave up her job on the back of Mike’s ITK mate! Good luck Mr Coughlan. UTG

Ah, but is Senhora Coughlan gonna risk upping sticks from Dublin? Could be a grave Eire, she could however end up Dublin her wages. Either way Corks will be popping tonight in the Coughlan household. We might Galway and nick a playoff place.

"Will yerself and Father Al-Qadi appoint Mr Coughlan, board members?" "No thank you Mrs Doyle, we've been talking to Mr Flynn in Newport" "Are yer SURE yer won't appoint Mr Coughlan?" "No no, talks are underway with Mr Flynn Mrs Doyle!" "Go on yer will, just a little appointment" "Really no, Mrs Doyle. It might be too soon to appoint Mr Coughlan full time even with his impressive record!" "Go on go on he'll keep yer out of trouble and relegation to be sure" "Really Mrs Doyle, it needs a lot of careful thought and planning!" "Go on go on go on go on" "Alright then! Thank you Mrs Doyle, Father Al-Qadi and I would love to appoint Mr Coughlan."

GC in.
I much prefer GC than Flynn. And some of the others names knocked about.
Welcome, gaffer!
It's just... I was hoping to appoint an experienced at this level candidate with maybe a little success.
Jury out for me, the analogy is I feel like it's a case of marrying the school nurse when you've been beaten up by some of the big boys, and a little boy or two ... !

The thing is with the “experienced at this level candidate with maybe a little success”, we’re not paying. Probably the best out of work candidate at this level is the one we just sacked. Interestingly our two most successful managers of this century Paul Trollope and Darrel Clarke were initially appointed as coaches by the previous manager.

Didn't bode well for Gary Thompson or Phil Bater though, but I take your very valid point. It's an encouraging start as I truly believe Flynn would have set us back. GC knows the squad, the running of the club, the back room staff and has a semblance of piecing players and formations together with what we've got. That's hugely positive. The challenge ahead. We'll all see. I hope so as much as I always have done. Jury out. I just wish we could have given GC 6months with the proviso of keeping us up ignites an extra 2 years managerial extension.

May I suggest that that's enough now? We've all been a dick before. I'm happy with the internal managerial appointment for now. I don't relish WAQ/SH/MS recruiting a cheap out of work experienced failure otherwise. Let's give this chap time while bringing through ambitious but inexperienced young coaches for the future.
