You could put it this way: we gave him the chance to manage at a higher level than conference and he took it with both hands only to fail at League 1 level when h'e'd run out of contacts and ideas and started blaming the owners. Being thankful works both ways in this case. The only promise the owners made was evolution. I can't recall them promising categorically to deliver a stadium or a training ground. Anyway, if he was half the manager he thinks he is then why hasn't he managed to keep us mid table at least? Truth is he always had an excuse; pitch, budget ect. I liked the bloke but we all know that since last February we have been on a downward spiral, and to me he stopped being creative. I didn't go to the Doncaster game, which was the first home league game I've missed in about 8 years because I knew nothing would change and that it would be another defeat. He had hit a brick wall. you are correct about the ground, the UWE deal as negotiated by Higgs gave away a lot of our income streams, and meant we had to build a creche for them and a whole host of other things. They wanted it to be called the UWE Community Stadium.

Spot on, LP.
I exiled myself from away matches for same reason. Sunderland was booked up well in advance and it was nice so much support turned out in adversity.
