the north stand at Eastville in 1959 was paid for by Bristol Rovers Supporters Club FACT ....Why would the Greyhound company build a stand ...attendances at dogs attracted hundreds ...Rovers in late 50's attracted 15-20,000 plus fans for football...even Reserve games drew 3000 fans Ah, so Rovers didn't build it.

They havent even had that built. They hire it and have it erected. Its a start tho and Higgs making his fortune in construction Give me strength. Wrong. We actually own it, and we even used to loan it to Wimbledon(tennis). But don't let that get in the way of another bitch-fest. Ok I am wrong. Thanks for pointing that out to me. So the board bought the tent I thought we rented. Well done the board. And I am not bitch festing mate, you appear to have deep relations with the board. You must be so proud and hold your head up very high each and every day. Good for you. If I were you I would be embarrassed, especially if you are the son of who I think you are.

did the club pay for the extra seats in the north stand at eastville in 1974 Yes.they did. The supporters club did indeed pay for the building of the North Stand in 1958, only 3 of the 5 bays were built and the club said at the time it hoped to build the remaining 2 bays 'in the near future'...I'm still waiting!

I made pretty much the same point on the official forum, it was pulled the next day..... I'm not board bashing, it's a shameful record.

I thought that we took on the West Stand at the Mem when the rugby club got into financial trouble, and were left with a debt on the structure as well as having to finish building it.

We leased the South Stand, then we bought it and then we sold it and leased it again. I expect by now it is back in the clubs ownership. The finance to purchase it the first time came from the proceeds from the sale of part of the car park.

I knew we rented the tent years ago and in the summer it was re erected at the Badminton horse trials and Wimbledon during the summer but as pointed out further up,we know actually own the Tent. We have two people on the board who have/had a business in the building industry and the best we can do is build/erect a bloody tent LOL.

You're not up to date with your grammar. LOL pulls someone up on their grammar yet can't get it correct themselves. O'Dear... This post has made my day. I know that there was a bit of banter back and forth, but I'm really struggling to see what grammatical error Chewie has made here. Can you help me please, Gaz?

Forgetting the ridiculous pettiness of it all for a moment where was the error?

Shocking really that we even have to discuss do we or don't own the tent. I can't believe anyone would want the Mem to remain, nothing but an eye soar. Can only dream of sitting in a stadium watching Rovers and that all sides look the same.
