I have searched online with no joy, does anyone know the scorers in this game and how the scoring went?

13 APRIL 1974 BRUCE BANNISTER COLIN GARWOOD GEORGE McVITIE
The worst setback of all, however was a 2-1 defeat on Easter Saturday at home to promotion rivals Oldham Athletic. Rovers’ healthy seven point lead had been whittled away as the Latics had won ten consecutive league games. Oldham had beaten Southport 6-0 just twenty-four hours prior to their game at Eastville. Then a long-range shot from George McVitie and an opportunist goal from top scorer Colin Garwood earned a crucial victory over Rovers. Oldham Athletic, promoted when they beat Huddersfield Town 6-0 a week later, were champions with 62 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Rovers and York City, both promoted under the new “three-up” rule.

Not found anything online but I think I attended every home game and 30% of the away games that season. I honestly can't remember but something is telling me we narrowly lost (0-1?) Great season though, probably the best of all the seasons I've followed Rovers.

Lost 2-1, as Harry says. Highlights were shown on Match of the Day. Barry Davies was the commentator. In the closing stages, he noticed some people leaving the ground and remarked that "you don't deserve promotion if you leave early" (or words to that effect). There was a minor outcry from Rovers fans (in the form, I suppose, of complaints to the BBC) prompting Barry Davies to clarify that "he only meant to criticise the people who had left, not those who stayed".

This game was featured on Match of the Day when there were highlights of 2 games. John Motson was the commentator, whereas Barry Davies did the earlier 3-0 win against Bournemouth in same season.
I have never seen the MOTD highlights for the Oldham game. Nor have I seen highlights of the away win against Norwich in Nov 1974.
Is there any way that MOTD highlights can be ordered via BBC archives?

Great season though, probably the best of all the seasons I've followed Rovers. One all at their ground. We had a goal disallowed late on, maybe Jeff Coombes. Fairly sure he featured.

Our poor form during the run in not helped by alan warboys pulling his hamstring really took the edge off of that season. I know we still got promoted but after the 29 or 30 match unbeaten run we should have won the bloody league!

Agreed by the dip in form. Losing to Southport on a Friday night shocked me after beating Brighton 8-2.
I was a glory-hunters in short trousers.
The amazing thing is that we played Oldham (Easter Saturday) the day after a 0-0 draw away at Tranmere. So by the time they got home, it would have been 10pm and they played the next day in a top of a table clash. Attritional.

I seem to remember that during the game against Norwich a Rovers supporter on a stretcher can be seen being carried off along the pitch, got knocked out by Norwich supporters, I think that Keelan was still playing for them ? he must have been in his 40s when he retired.
