Currently not quite as bad as 1992/93 season when after eight matches we had just 4 points instead of the five we currently have.
In 1992 from start of season there were 6 defeats Oxford United, Swindon Town, Charlton Athletic, Tranmere Rovers, Newcastle United and Grimsby Town. one draw Swindon and just one win Brentford.
11 goals were scored and 20 conceded.
The current season after eight matches we have had 5 defeats,2 draws and one win BUT scored just 6 goals scored and conceded 10.
Unfortunately at the end of that season we finished bottom and were relegated.

I'll bet you'd be happy if your last sentence was duplicated. Then your continual digs at the owners, Darrell and everything non "How it used to be" might have some credibility.

That 92-93 team were outclassed in tier 2. They tried hard. I saw them lose countless times at Twerton and they never, ever gave up. They had PRIDE in wearing the shirt. This current shower of b*st**ds would get beaten 10 nil by that relegated class of 92-93. Quite frankly they simply didn't deserve the support they got at Luton today.

You're not wrong, getting outclassed in the 2nd tier is a situation we can only dream of. Thing is, things have moved on from 30 years ago. The Championship now is big money and we've been overtaken by so many clubs, many of them with support they could only dream of. In terms of infrastructure and spending power we're probably a L2/L1 yoyo club at best, so I don't get the fuss really. Over to the (new?) owners.

Having watched my club since 1967 having missed just nine home matches since then and having travelled to watch Rovers play on 137 different grounds why the hell would I be happy to see them relegated ? I believe DC has been great for Rovers and the current and recent past owners always tried to improve the Club by investing their own money into a struggling club.

Just doesn't seem that way at times reading your posts.

I’d take a bad start in league 1 over a great start in the conference. On the basis of our recent history, we’re going okay and there’s no need to panic. In DC we trust.

Things can only get better..maybe. DC has signed players who for whatever reason, are not performing on match days.
Players do look as though and look to have some good skills but everyone just needs to be patient.
Unfortunately in this age of instant expectations of both players/managers, there is more pressure than years ago.

To counter that, I think we as GasHeads are incredibly patient. 1 goal in 54 is incredibly patient. Making mistakes v Peterborough, then again v Accy by playing one up front, then trying to 4-3-3 (when did that ever work last season?) which in reality only one recognised striker starts so it's 4-5-1 yesterday, is incredibly patient........then to change it after 20mins and bring on a non scoring striker* that (allegedly) works best with a two up front, yet keep same formation is more than incredibly patient. *see point above. I think it's fair to say patience can run out. If yours is more forgiving, SG fair play to you.....if you put your money where your mouth is and invest time and money following it every match, I bow down to you sir. Mine went v Southend.

I try to see most matches but remember back in the day when ( sadly) BC got promoted under Alan Dicks. He was a mediocre manager for a while but the same players he stuck with got them eventually to the old div 1. IMO DC is still experimenting with what he has. I think ( hopefully) with a couple of additions the side in the new year, is good enough to stay up.

I don't share your enthusiasm. Unless radical change is implemented.

Grimsby (H) 0-0 D Barnet (A) 2-0 L Altrincham (A) 2-1 D AFC Telford (H) 1-0 W Forest Green Rovers (A) 1-1 D Halifax Town (H) 2-1 W Braintree Town (A) 2-0 D Wrexham (H) 1-0 W
Puts it into perspective a little bit. Statistics like this are odd though, why does it become the worst start for 26 years after eight games and not seven? I assume it wasn't our worst after 7, it might not be after 9? If we'd lost our first game 10-0 and won every game since surely it would be our worst start ever? Surely, going on Mike's rules that the Conference season didn't count that was our worst start? I mean after 8 games we didn't have one Football League point!

Remember my euphoria when we beat part time Telford.Completed the double later in the year. In the away game Puddy in goal and an excellent player -ex Argyle- who sadly had to retire due to injury. Can't remember his name. Snakey was awful in the return -very short journey for me-and Gosling hardly had a touch.Great goal from Ollie and Locks played right back.Monkhouse red carded late on.

Very odd, particularly the 2-1 D

Very odd, particularly the 2-1 D Defeat obviously
