We lost to Birmingham City in league cup at the Mem.
Remember where you were?
I remember the atmosphere subdued to say the least at the shock before. Was in the Blackthorn End that night.
I was leaving work in Wiltshire, someone said there had been an attack on world trade centre....mate shrugged his shoulders in a so what kind of way....it wasn't until turning on any sort of media, the full impact of what that meant started hitting home. Lived in St George in those days, it was live on every TV channel.
Some things were never the same again.
And we are still thinking/talking/debating it to this day..

My parents were in Ireland so I was staying round a friends house. They brought us back matching novelty socks. Great memories.

In Jakarta wondering why everyone was shouting WTC at me. After that it got hairy and required a quick exit

I was at work and had a radio in front of me when the news came in, everyone crowded around and could not believe it, left for home shortly after and had the tv on until leaving at about 6.30 for the game v Birmingham, I can only remember being there to see the brummies thrash us and Andy Johnson running riot, left the game in a daze and sat up until about 2am watching everything about the terrible events from America.

5582 there at the Mem that evening including me. Lost 3-0 We gave Elvis Hammond a start in this cup tie he was shocking. The events in USA started the terrorist threat which pervades our daily lives. Only lesson learnt since has been be on our guard for those who want to kill you.

was in work all day and no access to any media, so found out on my way to the ground and just sat in the car park in shock at what i was hearing... still feel very sad to this day and anger towards both the people who did it and the American Govt because they knew about these animals

You wait until Bambie sees this thread. As one line staccato is en vogue; Just Google what Hitch said on the subject. I agree. That is all.
