According to Bristol live
Stefan Payne the 26-year-old Shrewsbury Town striker who enjoyed an excellent season at Shrews last term with 14 goals as he finished as their top goal scorer is a likely target for Rovers. Maybe Alex Rodman has told him how good life is at the Mem !

I think he is not a target man,so if we were go sign him,we would still need a 'Smash' to go with our 'Grab'.

Glad they're looking at rivals and not lower league.
If 400k he needs to deliver but it would shut a few up on this forum
Trust DC ffs.

He may have been top scorer but he wasnt no1 striker, he was sub for most of those 14 goals.

I hear the price is 400k. Seriously??!! The guy has had one good season with a club who had a particularly strong team last time out - but not as a regular part of it. Most of his career has been scuffling around in non-league, trying and failing to make the grade and subsequently being loaned out by various clubs. In fact Tom Nichols boasts a considerably better pedigree. The problem is that other clubs can now smell the strong whiff of desperation in the air and are preparing to stick it to us big time.

So that makes his goal tally even better then? Not always starting i mean. He scored plenty of goals for dover in the conference and played his part in shrewsbury towns fine season. But hey keep hanging on for some £2m striker,im sure he will arrive soon.

I can see your point, but, er,...haven't we now got a particularly strong midfield who might be expected to provide any striker with plenty of ammunition?

That sounds a lot like a description of Ellis Harrison albit maybe 2 okay seasons, 1 good season. And he scored a similar amount last season. If we get this guy for £400k it would be a good bit of business and make the £750k for Harrison seem a pretty good deal also.
