A part of me says, "Good luck to you Browner, you were a great club player," but then you think hang on he was moving back to London and I thought he would sign for a London side. It's as easy to get to Bristol as Portsmouth from London, surely he's not going to commute though. Overall the "good luck to you" is winning.

Overall the "good luck to you" is winning. Portsmouth to the M25: 52 miles (65-100 minutes). Bristol to the M25: 101 miles (100-130 minutes). Non-league back to the third division: yes thank you. I'd forgive him in a heartbeat if he went to China. Anything bar BC1982. EDIT: Brown I Needed A New ChallengeNew challenge, eh Lee? Well alright. But now I see a little of the other side of this. Bit of a shame he'll be playing against Rovers. Bit of a shame if Portsmouth beat us to anything. But I stand by.

I reckon a bit of a new challenge, and maybe in his mind he's unlikely to make the Championship with Rovers (like King Ricky thought, we recently found out)
he did his bit, and then some. 'Big club', Pompey

I think lee brown will struggle if up against an in-form Ellis or Bennett. Good Luck to him but I think DC would be counting this a blessing in disguise.

Club legend for being the first to sign a new contract after relegation. Club legend (and the most deserving member of the squad) to get THAT goal. You can only wish him well.

Like the guy a lot, but at times last season I thought he looked 'off the mark'and maybe even a bit 'stale' … and I wanted to see Bola given a run.
I hope he does well personally next season just not against us!

Add to that, he took one of the penalties against Grimsbury. Good luck to him at his new club, but I think we've had his best years.

Hmm. I think this is probably money/contract. If it was all about geography, Portsmouth is barely an improvement.

'Big club', Pompey I think possibly a little bit of mutual consent here too. Not convinced he was necessarily in DC's long term plans (he was dropped a couple of times this year after all) and, as an experienced player with a contract running out, he was probably expecting a decent wage increase that DC may have been reluctant to offer him. In everyone's interest to perhaps be a little economical with the truth or am I being too cynical?

I think hes struggled a bit defensively in both league one seasons but has still been very effective going forward. I think the lack of competition at left back might not have helped him. Portsmouth are a bigger club than rovers so it will be interesting to see how he gets on with them, maybe he just needs a new challenge to shake off his defensive issues?

When we play Pompey crosses from the left flank will challenge Lee Brown. Battling for headers when the ball is crossed from the left wing is not his strong polnt. He does'nt fancy that part of his job.

Funnily enough I saw LB the other way. Too slow to be an attacking full back, but granted he can cross and he is neat and tidy with the ball. I saw his strengths as - well, strength. Tenacity too. However, I think Ideally Clarke would like a pacy wing back a la Leadbitter. Bola is more of this type than a strong James Clarke type. Brown was not adequate in the 3 52 form, just the 442.
Agree that moving forward, we can probably do better than LB, sorry to say, he won’t have much potential above L1, but others could. I agree that we prob would not offer 2 years and his wages are amongst the highest.
