The 'glorious' Premier have a weekend off in February, I'm not a fan but now the decision is made,do you think we could increase a Mem attendance and entice a few Premier fans along?Special offers ,eg to get Dad to bring the kids etc.A good Mem game could 'turn a few heads'.

I see it doesn't begin until 2019/20 season, but the principal still applies.

Do you think that there might be a Premiership club close to our vicinity in the 2019/20 season? Discuss.
Nicely!

Of course, WE could be a Premiership side in 2020/21. On the other hand....................

No Chin up, KP. I'm instinctively inclined to agree with you. But this is the sort of thing we should be going for. The diehard superfans and STHs are the lifeblood of the club. But any bigger attendance and increased part-time or young fans is good. You have said many times our crowd is ageing. The more kids go to Rovers, even rarely, the better. Kids calling Rovers their 'local' team is a step in the right direction. I'd have more such events. Cut the premier division to sixteen teams (playing only thirty league rounds). More FA Cup. More days when premier division teams are not playing. Bigger second/third/fourth division attendances. More TV money to second/third/fourth division clubs. Sustainable four-division English football. Make Welsh clubs play in the Welsh league to ease the cut from 92 to 88. Chin up, KP.

So do we already get larger attendances during international weekends when there aren't any premier league fixtures...No. This will not change a thing

Casual Mem visitors may opt for a sesh in the pub instead.

Yes. We should always be looking at ways of getting our attendance up. This would be a good opportunity, so over to the Commercial Manager (or whoever is responsible for special promotions). I am most definitely not with the "won't make a scrap of difference, so let's not even try" brigade. That's a negative mind-set. There is potential for this Club, and I would suggest one of the reasons why our owners chose to invest in us in the first place. I am not suggesting that the 42,000 we took to Wembley in 2007 (crowd of 57,000 - still a record for a football match in the 4th tier) are all potential Season Ticket Holders, but they are all potential attendees. So should we try and exploit that.

But the Premier league isn't having a weekend off. Half the Premier league clubs will have one weekend off (for there mid season exhibition in China and the Far East) and the following weekend the other half will have a weekend off. Fear not Sky and BT will still fill there schedules

So should we try and exploit that. Not being negative at all...just expressing a view that a weekend off for 10 premier league clubs will not make any difference to our attendance. I would argue and I have previously that we should do much more to encourage Rovers fans to attend (or locals who do not usually attend matches) I bet we all know lots of people who claim to be fans but never actually attend (unless its a high profile game) Why not do more to get these people to the ground... An option of buying a multi ticket at a reduced rate when we have 2 home games in a week, covering both games, might help boost the crowd a little. A ticket for a game for £5 when spending say more than £30 in the club shop? 5 ticket stubs for previous games in the season entitles you to a half price ticket? We need to get smarter and use more imagination... No negativity on my part I can assure you

Fear not Sky and BT will still fill there schedules Exactly. During the first week the presenters will be shouting their heads off insisting that the upcoming fixtures are the most exciting games in the history of the world, ever, even if it's Burnley Vs Watford, then the following week they'll be at it again, shouting about how you can't afford to miss Newcastle Vs Bournemouth. Not sure why a gap in fixtures is needed anyway, as pointed out elsewhere, the PL players going to the WC will have played less than their counterparts from Spain, France and Brazil, it's just an excuse to mask the mess made of English football by the PL.

It’s the same principle as NFL. They have a 17 week regular season but each team gets one bye week to recover. Teams are happy, players are happy and the great god of television is happy.

I guess that's one of the reasons why we've hired a more professional team - to be more creative around how we increase our home attendances.
