So the best you can say about the playing side is that the 2 promotions and last seasons 10th in league one was just plain lucky. Regarding investment, there clearly has been investment,we have an unheard of 21 senior pro squad,a brand new development squad and several other clear improvements. What the owners havnt delivered is a new or a significantly improved ground, that much is true. I totally understand people taking a neutral view of the owners,a "lets see what happens" approach but i dont understand the negative sniping about them. In fact i think some people on both forums have an agenda against them for reasons known to them but not me. No agenda just don’t like being told one thing then getting nothing st all. Best takes those tints off. We had the under 18’s and most of the development squad is from there. I give up on caring anyway, it does me harm and I need to reign it in We obviously strongly disagree on the luck of the 2 promotions and the owners. Regarding the development squad we have signed a significant number of players this season who were not previously at the club including paying a fee for rhys kavanah from newport. Ive watched them 3 times and they have always impressed.

The other week DC said he thinks an average of 2 points a game from our last 10 games may see us make hthe play offs. So,if we beat Posh and Bury,we're back on track.
Very disapointing to only take 1 point from the Cobblers and Pilgrims games. But,we played very well and this ought to be a reminder to the lads that we are capable of winning a few more games.Enjoy it and with abit of luck.
Season not over.

Come on KWP of course we rode our luck in the Conference final but it was all about the result and we got it! Forget the performance it was the result and only the result which was important. Why was it the “easiest conference league” in years? I don’t think it was, the following year Cheltenham and Grimsby went up and they didn’t set league 2 on fire the following year nor have FGR though Lincoln are making a good stab at promotion. I bet none of them started as badly as we did but who cares, we went up. But, come on, don’t say both promotions were a bit lucky, that’s just bonkers. I get it that you seem not to like Wael for whatever reason but you can’t ignore the development squad, the increase in support staff that have has helped us establish ourselves in league 1, the training ground that is progressing, albeit slowly, and the appointment of key staff that supported our growing as a club. Yes the new ground, or lack of plans at the moment, is the elephant in the room but you can’t ignore the stuff that is happening that shows we are growing. The picture you’ve drawn really doesn’t fit the picture of what’s happening, lots of progression going on just not the ground, at the moment! Ive probably got several years on you and have been waiting even longer for the new ground and I can still remember my grandad telling me about the selling of the ground in the war years so with other people my age we have had a long wait. But if I’ve got to wait a bit longer then there’s not much I can do except watch the football and support the team. We’re Rovers fans, we’re used to this stuff and I’m going to enjoy the stuff I can and hope for the stuff that’s yet to come. UTG! That’s what forums are for though eh. We all can have different opinions but I see nothing to make me believe the owners will deliver a stadium. I hope I am very wrong Yes of course it is what forums are for. I think they are growing the club but whether they can provide the new ground will be the ultimate test for lots of fans. Like you I hope they can do it. UTG!

I know theoretically we could still make the play offs or get relegated but realistically our season is over. We should be challenging near the top of the table but when you consistently sell your best players and don't replace them the chances of progression are very slim. and that's why as a club in a large City we have failed to progress in to the Championship (and stay there) over the last 3 decades

I just got sick of hearing oh Bristol, that place without a football team. This was when I used to have the firms offices in Leeds, Doncaster and Newcastle. A lot from Doncaster go to Newcastle

Why the negativity? We’re on target to be near our best season or even exceed it (last season) this century. Yes it could be better, it always could be better we’re Bristol Rovers not Man U! UTG! We have slipped to 12th over the last ten days, but I'm not bothered; DC is doing what he should be doing by improving the squad and blooding the youngsters. You can't really compare our placing one year in a league to the next year as there are so many variables - the squad is evolving (had to squeeze that word in) and there are so many other positive initiatives observable in the club.

Exactly, completely agree, slipping to 12th in League 1 is nothing to be worried about. And those upper mid-table places are so close we could be much lower or we could be 7th or 8th come the end. As you say squad is evolving, we’ve lost our so-called best two players and are still about to finish mid table. Lots of things to be positive about. Still need owners to keep improving the club bit by bit and we all know what the elephant in the room is, don’t we?! UTG!

Yes, and look at our rivals in the Conference, Barnet and Grimsby. I hope it will be many years before we are rivals again but to avoid that you need to keep improving gradually which is what we’ve done and others haven’t. As you say well done DC and the team. UTG!

Now the old maths has kicked in and we can not make the playoffs (not, in my view, we were going to) and we already have a thread for who is going (a tad disrespectful with the season not finished, allow DC to get on with it) but let the real speculation begin: where will warm-weather training take place? Hopefully back to Barcelona, happy with Portugal, maybe even Jordan or up and down the dunes at Berrow with a night out in Burnham-On-Sea!
