I know theoretically we could still make the play offs or get relegated but realistically our season is over. We should be challenging near the top of the table but when you consistently sell your best players and don't replace them the chances of progression are very slim.

Yehhhh not sure about that one.

Don't want to get relegated, obviously, and with this squad it would be a blood bath in the Championship. OK, Nichols had a poor start and now his confidence is shot to pieces, he needs to go out on loan to a lower division and get himself back into the habit of scoring, but at this stage Bennett looks to be every bit as much of an asset as Billy was.

I was thinking along similar lines & was thinking that maybe we could now give Mensah and youth some games but I don’t think, not for one moment, that DC would do this. I do wonder if we can even keep hold of a couple plus DC. Sorry if I am on repeat but I feel now, just as I did in the nearly season and may take a break. I really am sick of it all & I maybe need to redress how I use my valuable time ? I don’t care if I get called part time or not but when you just have even you favourite album playing, sometimes it can grate. Its because I care that I feel this way. I wish I could just let it go but I am not enjoying it anymore. I know a fair few others who feel the same. Time will tell.

The manager will be looking and trying to work out how he can end the season with more points than last season's 66, so still a lot to do yet, 9 games left, only have 50 points so far.

Sorry to be negative but I will be very shocked but pleasantly surprised if we get to 66. We just don’t make enough of the chances we have. Have you seen the stats V Pilgrims ? We had higher possession. Shots, corners and everything, even more shots at goal. We just lost by goals is all, trying to look on the bright side

...we could still make the play offs or get relegated but realistically our season is over. Pardon? We should be challenging near the top of the table... Should we? Rovers relegation to the Fourth Division was unacceptable to me: weak teams and not enough clubs I really admire. The minimum acceptable outcome in the Fourth Division was a playoff place. Rovers relegation to the Conference was abominable to me: part-time footballers and too many clubs I had not heard of. The minimum acceptable outcome in the Conference was promotion. Rovers' successive promotions from the Conference to the Third Division was a huge relief to me: in fact a delight. The minimum acceptable outcome in the Third Division is to be moving/looking up not down. I grew up on Rovers as a mid-table Third Division club. My first game was the first day of the season; don't ask me which season. But we were on the North Terrace at the Memorial Ground, before it had a roof. I remember the words my mate (not a duck but a student) who took us uttered as Rovers kicked off on the opening day. From then on, Rovers was my team. Last season we finished tenth in the Third Division; I was very happy. There was absolutely not one single thing wrong with this. I will be very happy to finish ninth this season. Then we can press-on next season for eighth, with which I would be very happy. And so on. I do not know why, after many seasons in divisions below, we need to be in such a rush now. I do not know what you mean by 'should'.

Why the negativity? We’re on target to be near our best season or even exceed it (last season) this century. Yes it could be better, it always could be better we’re Bristol Rovers not Man U! UTG!

Bradford lost tonight, so we keep hold of 10th.

Marquis won it for Donny.
Yes, he had to have service, but Bradford look a shadow of when we played them away back in autumn.

Not so long ago i was bracing myself for a 3-5 year stay in the conference and worrying about the absurd prolonging of the legal case against sainsbury. Now its possible we could have a 2nd season in the top half of league one and of course theres still an outside chance of promotion. People have very short memories dont you think?

We basically went back up in probably the easiest conference leagie in years and if you watch the final again you will see how we really rode our luck. We did this with the team that the previous board had assembled. Under Nick Higgs and DC. We once again had some superb luck in our successive promotion to L1. We have now had some bad news since..regards the stadium and are being told to accept slow and sometimes no movement and that is hard to take. Remember we older gas have waited 4 or more decades and were told there was no problem financing the UWE. Yes. Short memories at times but still we go to a dilapidated stadium that it now seems like we won’t be out of under the current owers I still think it’s amazing we get the amount of fans we do given the many and varied disappointments we have had to put up with. If you are happy at the ground as it is and with no real investment then god bless you. I had higher hopes & hoped we could build on that momentum. So many other and smaller clubs have been in the championship. Even Yeovil. How about them apples ?

So the best you can say about the playing side is that the 2 promotions and last seasons 10th in league one was just plain lucky. Regarding investment, there clearly has been investment,we have an unheard of 21 senior pro squad,a brand new development squad and several other clear improvements. What the owners havnt delivered is a new or a significantly improved ground, that much is true. I totally understand people taking a neutral view of the owners,a "lets see what happens" approach but i dont understand the negative sniping about them. In fact i think some people on both forums have an agenda against them for reasons known to them but not me.

So many other and smaller clubs have been in the championship. Even Yeovil. How about them apples ? Come on KWP of course we rode our luck in the Conference final but it was all about the result and we got it! Forget the performance it was the result and only the result which was important. Why was it the “easiest conference league” in years? I don’t think it was, the following year Cheltenham and Grimsby went up and they didn’t set league 2 on fire the following year nor have FGR though Lincoln are making a good stab at promotion. I bet none of them started as badly as we did but who cares, we went up. But, come on, don’t say both promotions were a bit lucky, that’s just bonkers. I get it that you seem not to like Wael for whatever reason but you can’t ignore the development squad, the increase in support staff that have has helped us establish ourselves in league 1, the training ground that is progressing, albeit slowly, and the appointment of key staff that supported our growing as a club. Yes the new ground, or lack of plans at the moment, is the elephant in the room but you can’t ignore the stuff that is happening that shows we are growing. The picture you’ve drawn really doesn’t fit the picture of what’s happening, lots of progression going on just not the ground, at the moment! Ive probably got several years on you and have been waiting even longer for the new ground and I can still remember my grandad telling me about the selling of the ground in the war years so with other people my age we have had a long wait. But if I’ve got to wait a bit longer then there’s not much I can do except watch the football and support the team. We’re Rovers fans, we’re used to this stuff and I’m going to enjoy the stuff I can and hope for the stuff that’s yet to come. UTG!

I think Bennet is a better overall player than Bodin. He's our David Silva type of player; gets about, chases, harries, wins tackles, brings others into play, plays some lovely through balls and scores the odd goal. He has one thing in common with Bodin though, he tends to disappear during games.

Best takes those tints off. We had the under 18’s and most of the development squad is from there. I give up on caring anyway, it does me harm and I need to reign it in
