Apparently the bookies have DC as one of the favourites to become Barnsleys new Manager.

Apparently the bookies have DC as one of the favourites to become Barnsleys new Manager. Would you blame him when the clubs super owners have allowed him a 32 yr old, a guy who looks like he will snap if kicking a ball and I thought he was close to doing his knee ( Bennett btw) when his boot got stuck in a divot, plus a guy from Aldershot. Some are calling it a great window, I beg to differ. It was definitely Poundland stock and if I were DC and got a decent off then I’d be off. He has proved his loyalty once already but has now openly said he is here for the fans. No, I would not begrudge him a move and think he deserves one I remember when Gerry Francis went to QPR and said the bubble had burst as far as taking us any further. Call me what you want but I don’t see decent backing of him and I’ve a feeling he could even be made a scapegoat if things turn against us love the guy, love his honesty and ability to accept blame but there is only so much any manager can do and only a certain amount of hidden gems one can expect from him. Just my opinion anyway

Just my opinion anyway I would'nt blame DC if he left, not in the least.I don't think the powers that be are singing from the same sheet as him. DC is a great manager and has the ability to back up his ambition. Rovers Board have proven to be a thorough disappointment.Again.

Just my opinion anyway He wanted 3 or 4 permanent signings and he wanted some experience
DC signed got 3 permanent. 2 with plenty of league experience and 1 that is 'potential' which we paid a fee for.
Not sure that is Poundland stock, even if doesn't meet Waitrose standards

If they're going after Cowley I fancy Clarke would be fairly high on their list, fingers crossed they go elsewhere

Well, I thought DC looked pretty pleased with himself when interviewed about how the transfer window had gone. Of course it's possible he was just happy that he wouldn't have to keep hearing the same questions about who he was going to sign, but that's not the impression I got.

Wouldn't be so quick to have such an instant evaluation of a player's abilities after just 1 or 2 games and on that ploughed field that the Mem currently resembles

By comparison, he’s a fat bar steward to Bennett. If you’re happy then fair enough but it’s not top 6 budget players and they won’t push us on in my view. Tony Craig may have the experience but he’s no creative midfielder. Sorry if it upsets some but I think we have left a lot to be desired. Im at the point where I may just attend a drink now & again and not get persistent disappointment from the owners. DC deserves better, the fans deserve better. I really am tired of it. if you’re happy with that window then fair play.

How do you pay top six budget on say 2 players? How do the rest of the squad feel?

If I was DC you wouldn't see my arse for dust,he is a young ambitious manager who wants to get to the top so he is at completely the wrong club.

I think DC is at exactly the right club. I inderstand when posters say he’s limited and constrained by the budget etc. etc. But he would hate being a manager at a club where his hands are tied in another way by having to answer to a DOF perhaps or someone else who controls the recruitment. I may be wrong but I think DC is a guy who needs total control, where he wants the football side to revolve around him and where he has the final say. The way some clubs are organised means he wouldn’t always get that and I’m not sure that would suit. That’s not to say he won’t move on but whilst he gets frustrated at times, like he was before Christmas, I think he realises and appreciates what he has got and has been sounding a lot more up beat recently. UTG!

Of course he will be linked with these jobs. I think he is loyal to us, I know this only goes so far, but regardless of the owners commitment (I think DC will be fully in the know on this) I believe he appreciates us, his autonomy and we may have matched some of his ambition so far. Sure he will not hang around forever if all we do is hope to be safe in Div 1, but frankly I don't think this is his agenda or fingers crossed the owners.

Of course he will go one day and in some ways it's good he is being linked with these jobs. I don't think DC is just going to somewhere just to fill his pockets with a nice contract because it's a 'big' job. I think he will be pretty selective as much as he can be in his current position

That makes more sense. Can't see him relishing a relegation fight.
