The hell's up with this forum recently and all the politics, all the "PC this, right wing that" etc? Am I logging onto Facebook and not realizing it?

The hell's up with this forum recently and all the politics, all the "PC this, right wing that" etc? Am I logging onto Facebook and not realizing it? I think it’s because the other forum began modding content and some posters (myself included) felt that modding followed a predictably PC line. I think in a wider sense the country is separating into PC and non PC. Also, the PC group, who tend to be the smaller group yet the group in control, are becoming increasingly intolerant and aggressive in enforcing their views and demands, at work, at home, and especially in education. So, to many who find censorship abhorrent, identifying as “non PC” is a way of describing yourself as a tolerant and easy going individual, or group, who will allow you your views and opinions without becoming a bitchy witch hunt of ostracising you for not obeying whatever fad theory is doing the rounds.

Were Aggy and Ashwin there?
Any news on who picked up the corner flag at end of Southampton game.
I'd pay thousands to have that as a momento.

Mucker, it was a great night and what I would have loved happen is if just a few that think maybe poorly of the Tote end lot, we are a good bunch and you, I am sure, would have had a great night. I hope your night was half as good as mine. I only drink on football days and I stick to 2 or sometimes I will have 3 if Guinness BUT I am afraid to say I lost count and stupidly went well into double figures and am only just getting over it now. I have had to now make a full apology to the team looking after me and they have told me me that I am very literally taking my life into my hands by drinking so much while receiving treatment. I felt pretty stupid and quote childlike in doing so. When or if there is another do, I will let you know in good time. It would be good to get people to meet others, face to face as I find it makes it much harder to be hurtful once you actually get to know someone. What a night

You know, its the fact that this was a turn up if you like event that made it so good. No tickets to pay for, no merchandise to buy. Just a bunch of us older Rovers fans who enjoy having a chat and a few beers. I think there must have been at least 25 corner flags vaughan I have personally heard of six different people who got “that” one lol. I am glad I had a lift arranged or I think I would not have been able to convey myself to anywhere. That the only trouble with being in good company, the beers glide down and it’s far too easy to sink. Yes, both were there as were some of the gents that I didn’t expect. As far as I am concerned this was the best of all of the previous nights and I hope we are still all around to do it again.

Honestly, great post fella Nothing "well said" or "articulate" into pushing one-sided politics into a otherwise harmless football forum. Everything he attributed to "PC culture" can be just as easily attributed to so-called "Non-PC culture" and the reason why I didn't bring this up earlier is because, quite frankly, this kind of debate is endless, exhausting, and overall pointless. Hence my confusion as to why this forum seems to be suddenly affected by political pontification, when a month ago or so our most controversial topic involved someone pretending to be a World War 2 veteran. Now all of a sudden a couple of weeks in and we've got all this Facebook terminology of boxing people into categories based on what they believe (or people believe that they believe). Anyway, I'm off of this, the point is you guys had a great night and hope more are to come. UTG.

Anyway, I'm off of this, the point is you guys had a great night and hope more are to come. UTG. Well, it’s allowed to be about politics when it’s shoehorning women’s football into the game, it’s allowed to be about politics when it’s “kick it out” and various media organisations demonising football fans as racist chavs when racism at a match is rarer than a decent referee. It’s allowed to be about politics when we sing songs about a certain terrorist organisation and it upsets someone. It’s allowed to be about politics when it’s “twenties plenty” campaign. Politics infest football all the time and just saying you’re non PC in a joking way is hardly a soapbox rant! Got to say as well, KP is clearly descended from immigrants so just shows how ludicrous PC must be when the supposed benefactor of PC culture is openly decrying it’s lack of credibility. Myself too as a descendent of the chosen people of Israel, if you trace it back a long way :-). That’s me done on the issue too!
