I stood next to Bobby Dolan as we left Filbert St at Leicester on 28th October 1978. It was my first away game and he had an orange jacket on and was obviously a steward or so I thought. Bobby kicked over the metal barrier and laid into Leicester fans. So that's what stewards do to escort young fans back to a railway station, keen to be protected by a bastion of law and order. An eye-opener certainly. i went about that time may have been a bit later, i think it was aroud christmas/new years day we got there half time in our van and it was b'stard freezing

May have been 1976 but not certain as I can't even recall the score in the game. Our coach took us to Blackpool for the evening afterwards and that's about as much I can remember about the whole adventure.Young and dumb back then and not used to drinking either.Pernod Nigel was there as well he may have been the transport organiser. nige withers ?. he used to run a coach from lockleaze Yeh that's him,top lad and still see him around at the mem.

14/12/1991 Blackburn R 3 Bristol R 0. I remember coming away from the ground trying to recall the previous time we'd been beaten by 3 goals - it seemed like it hadn't happened for years, as though this was a heavy defeat. In reality there was a big gulf between the clubs.
07/03/1992 Bristol R 3 Blackburn R 0. But then we evened things out, got our revenge, with 2x Boris and 1x Bruno.
Back to that Blackburn away game, the other thing that stood out was the terrible driving conditions on the way back. I was shivering, with the flu coming on, the fog was drawing in and you could barely see 50 yards in front. It was also difficult to keep the windscreen clear, with it freezing up.
