Droy was another Chelsea player who was very robust then, chelsea were in decline from 74 ? onwards.
I don't want to see Rovers with thugs in the team but I would like to see a ball winning midfield player who can also pass accurately to break up the other teams attacks and set Rovers creative players on their way.
Some of the players of old would probably be sent off during the warm up these days but Rovers do seem to be unable to deal with physical strikers at the moment, that bloke at Bradford for instance.

Plus Peter "Mary" Houseman.... my serious point about Rovers ball winers and strong tacklers is made by many fans every matchday. We do not impose ourselves on games and fail to break up play.
Everyone loves a creative player and David Williams, Vitas Astajevs Stuart Campbell and currently Chris Lines are among my all time favourites but we really do need physically stronger players to make progress.
I remember Chelsea at that time as being pretty much like their supporters, a couple of little guys who didn't do much but mostly just violent thugs. Can't think of anything good about the club, then or now, just plain horrible. Chelsea fans and Club are frankly brilliant. The headhunters are a relic of the past but no one can deny the quality of the football over the past decade or more. Hazard is world class and potential Champions League winners (again).
The only problem Chelsea have is a small, old enclosed Stadium which holds just under 42,000 which could easily attract 60,000 fans. The proposal of a new Stadium is progressing.
PS the reference to Vaughan Jones who knows me well would be taken as a compliment by Joner. He always says Jocky had the reputation for kicking wingers up in the air especially Smith of City whereas he did it a bit more shall we say subtly !

Not a surprise that you think some of the most violent disgusting supporters in the country are 'frankly brilliant', you do have a track record of threatening people, and you do seem to think that David Pipe is some kind of role model. As for the harm done to the British game by Chelsea and their money, well, the evidence is there for all to see. A club with no moral compass. If Terry was a Rovers' player I would refuse to attend until he was gone, shameful, yet Chelsea supporters idolise him and the club think it's OK to disrupt a game to substitute him. That's all you need to know, right there. I laughed my head off when they lost the cup final in May. Here you go, plenty of bad language, so if you are easily offended DO NOT PLAY THIS VIDEO.

In this modern era bow much ball winning is actually done. Seems to be mainly pressing for a mistake.

JT is indeed a legend and taught Jake Clarke Salter all he knew and England won the U20 World Cup. Now Villa fans too love him. He certainly ended his England career too early. Mind you Cahill is doing well for England as will Abraham and Loftus Cheek both excellent Chelsea products. Liked Colkett in our side last season he showed real class.

Hard to believe you actually think this. A bankrupt club held afloat by the cash ripped off from a "gangster" state.

Clarke-salter and colkett were very poor imo, salter was just plain scared against strong strikers,in fact he got millwall promoted by his gutless show v morrison, colkett didnt bother trying when the team were struggling. Just my take on these 2,lets see what happens in their careers?

Emile 7 goals in 62 games, but does include some memorable misses and comical falling over. Michael 40 in 89 appearances.

Have a look around and see what Michael Owen thinks about their partnership and what Emile Heskey contributed to it. Very doubtful that Owen would have done as well without him (or maybe someone very similar) alongside. Heskey was an awkward guy to mark and that left gaps for Owen to exploit.

The defence rests How many games did England win when he played and how many over the same period did we win when he didn't play The same question applies to cahill and don't rely on guesswork because I have done my homework on this

Liverpool player Owen heaps praise on Liverpool player Heskey? Well I never. Get over it, Heskey was dreadful, look at the compilation videos of the bloke literally falling over when he's not even being challenged.
