Interesting DC interview with Geoff Twentyman on Having a Gas BBC Radio Bristol. Sounded honest, articulate and frustrated ...and that was only GT !.
Well worth a listen. He does not know if and when the Colony will be started and finished. No surprise there.
The comment about we have not moved on since 1987 is a tad baseless....Twerton Park and training at Frys and no backroom staff.
We now own our own ground have a decent training facility and loads of back room staff. The comment made by many about lack of defensive coach...but last season we had one and conceded goals by the shed load but had Taylor and scoring more than we conceded and won more consistently.

I heard some of it being stuck on ring road by (ironically) UWE for an hour.
For the first time probably ever, to me he sounds utterly fed up and down in the dumps.
I admire he's been as honest as he's allowed to, but it sounds like morale is low.
I really hope I'm wrong as i didn't hear the whole interview.

Yes his agreement to five year deal was based on UWE and training ground and he has been let down big time. He said he was a loyal person very ambitious but feels like his mojo has gone. I sincerely hope he gets some support from Stewart and Mansell etc as he is in need of it. A painful listen that interview.

To be fair, not many could say what he says and get away with it. Even if it's true.
He is largely held as the darling of our club, all he alludes to won't draw criticism to himself.

Havent heard it, but of course he is going to be disappointed
That said even with expedited time frames in a perfect world DC could be poached by another club before anything was built or ready for use.
He has to do the best job he can with the tools he has. DC said himself not long ago being a manger is about managing what you have.
As any player or manager DC will be long gone whilst we are all still here. As much as he mighg want us to improve and I respect him for that, he just has to do what he needs for his career

I have never bought the idea he needed to be cajoled into signing a 5 year deal. Show me a lower league manager that wouldn't snap your hand off for that sort of security.
As for 1987, he'd have been 10 years old and living in Mansfield, probably training in a park and attending the old Field Mill ground. I can see why he might think little has changed.

Rumours abound ...hope the one about Robert Gabriel Mugabe being seen entering Hamer's office this afternoon with what looked like a suitcase full of £50 notes is untrue.

listening now...
proven players probably an expense challenge - prices have gone mad
bargain basement shopping has served us very well - Brown, Leds, Locks, Broadbean, Ollie C, Sincs, BillyBo, Matty T etc
squad is now 22 players, including 3 loans and about 5 under 21s
Sercs has been steady good performer. More to come from Nicholls
frustrated. Talking a lot about the infrastructure. Q: 'What's the situation about the training ground?' A: 'That's a good question Geoff'
'Chairman is in regular contact with the owners to try and push it through'

Anyone who thinks there isn't anything wrong behind the scenes only has to listen to that.
Completely agree with him and understand his frustration at being conned into signing a 5 year contract.
Behind DC all the way, Though I can't see him being here in 12 months- or maybe even 3 the way things are going.

Perhaps, but he has definely been misled, like the rest of us. His frustration is obvious. I do struggle to see why DC is starting to take the heat and not our fraud owners, but there you go.
