Went to the park today and ended up watching a kick about game played by a few kids who were about 14. One kid was in goal, made a couple of great saves and even saved a penalty, DEFINITELY better than Mildenhall. One kid was crossing, he skinned his 8 year old younger brother for pace so DEFINITELY better than Monkhouse. As for the kid up front..... Think combination of Messi and Bergkamp, scored about 30 goals in one game, all from within 10 yards. DEFINITELY better than Brunt and Taylor put together. I would suggest if these boys entered the Conference alone they would finish above us in the league. God it's depressing being a Rovers fan. Very dry!!!! Looking forwards to their season, could surprise a few Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nothing like a good dose of humour to keep our spirits up

i think akinde plays for dover? He plays for Barnet, he signed for them this summer from Alfreton where he scored 18 goals. Puts the goalscoring worries into perspective doesn't it? Akinde managed 18 in one season. ah barnet not dover thanks

There is a danger in reading too much into these games particularly in respect of attackers who are not subject to the close attention , tough tackling and sledging that they will get in a league game. In a real game a defender will be far more aggressive towards an attacker and an experienced defender will quickly try to show a youngster who is boss by certain professional tactics. How the youngster reacts to that will testify as to how well or badly they will cope with fooball at this level.
This pat a cake friendly stuff is ok for judging fitness but it does not show how much character a player may have and how they will react when the going gets a little tougher.
