His piece in today's Bristol Post says Gerry Francis lent the club £10,000 of his own money... We knew this in 1987
Also he says the victory over the 82s in 1990 clinched the title and was the last game of the season... Wrong on both counts there Jack
How is this paper still around?

I like Jack, but this article is lifted almost verbatim from the Times, which in turn is taken from GF's book The Team That Dared to Do.

I wish he'd do a bit of digging around the AQ's instead of just kissing their arses.

I've noticed his subject matter before, & how pointless/dated some of it is. I have wondered though if it's down to our own club's now-notorious secretiveness, both manager & board. Poor sod's got to fill column inches but gets precious little to work with (unlike his counterpart covering the s"""). Hence the likes of at story which was common knowledge back at the time. If you're reading this Jack, you have my sympathy.

I could not disagree more. I always want and expect match reports to include the attendance. Without odd English obsessions, English football is just like other countries' football. Only often more crap. Odd English obsessions are why we are all reading this board.

The oddest thing in football has to be applauding the attendance... “Yeah, fair play for coming me”.
