Wales have friendlies against France (in Paris, on Friday 10th November) and against Panama (in Cardiff, on Tuesday 14th November).
If Rovers and Tom Lockyer can regain a little of the solidity we've seen over the past few years, mightn't there be a hint of a first cap in there somewhere?
[Rovers are at Scunthorpe on Saturday 11th November].

Not with how he is playing this season. I think he needs to be relieved of team captain too as that’s not doing him much good either. I’ve been a fan of his fir some time so it pains me to say what I just have

I can't believe his form warrants inclusion in the squad tbh.
We all love the guy, but Kp has it spot on imo..

Would expect he'd pick up a cap in at least one of these upcoming friendlies. Maybe the Panama game

Well I am Welsh and very happy that he has been called up for our games even if he did not get on the pitch. Just training with the likes of some of our first team can only be good for him.

With Ashley Williams being the senior citizen in the Wales squad, I think there is a good chance the Tom will get his first cap - probably in the Panama game. The Welsh coaching staff will see how he performs in training against opposition like Bale and Ramsey, as well as his 200+ Rovers appearances. Not bad for a 22 year old.

I agree Tom is struggling, and the Captaincy is probably an extra burden he doesn't need. If it was uo to me, I'd give the armband to The Beard!

Many now don’t even think a team needs a captain but I’m not one of them & I believe that a voluble & motivational team captain can make the world of difference to a team. It’s as if Locks could be a bit overwhelmed given his Wales call ups too. I hate to say it but he’s just not up to muster right now & I hope he regains the form we know he is capable of

I agree Tom is struggling, and the Captaincy is probably an extra burden he doesn't need. If it was uo to me, I'd give the armband to The Beard! I struggle to pick out any single player that is actually calling the shots and this is probably the quietest Rovers team I’ve seen. I’d give the position of club captain to Sincs but we really need someone who commands the respect of all of the team but I’m glad I don’t have the job of picking for that position. In my opinion players such as Lines would be in the mix for the job and I can imagine him actually really wanting it. We really do need to start to hear players communicate with each other. Given the benefit of hindsight, I’d take last years squad over this years straight away. We are just not playing with the vim, vigour and elan that we were capable of, last season. We seem disjointed and lacking in that never say die attitude in my opinion. As DC rightly says, he will be a sitting duck if things don’t improve. I don’t know whether he was let down on transfer monies or if he just got it wrong but this is his squad now & January seems a long way away. IF we did pay 300K for Nichols then I can see why the Peterborough owner was joking about that.

It's that you don't need a captains armband to bark orders, or gee up your team mates.
Players don't stay silent and suddenly transform into something else because they have been given a bit of cloth. It doesn't have magic super powers
What it does have (at least in England) is some sort of expectation of English Lion, Terry Butcher, John Terry, Bobby Moore type figure head which is a load of bollox.
People have mentioned Mansell and I would agree we have missed some of his character and leadership in the middle of the park and he never needed an armband to do that

Fair comment Peter Parker I was going to mention Mansell but thought I best keep it relevant but he is just the sort of character we desperately need right now

Locks was Under 18s captain and a good one to be fair. Feel he needs to concentrate on his personal game and give Lines or Sercombe the armband
Bodin needs to be selected by Wales for Panama match.... Shirley ?

Certainly hope not otherwise we may be in bottom4 by then DC keeps his cards close to his chest but I think I used to see you on occasion watching them train. From what little I know BB has done a hamstring and we both know that’s not a short fix I’ve had a bad gut feel about this season once our transfer business was done. I think we could be in or around the bottom 4 by Jan because of the poor transfer business. Letting our only real winger go was madness in my opinion
