But Mike, apart from the fact that the piece is horribly written, who is critcising what's being said? Not me, that's for sure.

It isn't him though is it? He is passing on the message from the inspecting authority who were at the match, which as chairman he has to do. Lucky this inspector has spotted blocked gangways as it seems from Hamers statement no one employed by the club has been able to spot this. Perhaps the chairman needs to ensure employees are doing their job before launching into the fans. Are the stewards employed by Rovers or do they contract it out? I really have no idea. Whatever way I would hate to be a steward, I would guess the pay isn't great and from what I have witnessed they just get abuse from pissed up blokes refusing to move when asked. While I would agree that standing on yellow lines in crowds of 8000 in a stadium that holds around 3000 more is hardly worth worrying about. we sadly live in a world full of compensation claims which leads companies to protect themselves to the nth degree.

St Andrews holds loads, but it was a huge problem when a couple of hundred couldn't get to seats and ended up stood in narrow aisles, painted yellow from memory. Just don't stand on the yellow bits, everyone knows the rules, no you aren't special because you've been drinking beer or want to show off to your friends, just grow up, stand in a sensible place, enjoy the game and let everyone else enjoy it as well.
