For me, Springfield Park. Twice.
Once was in pub 15mins before match due to start, fella comes in chuckling wearing flat cap, with his whippet, just about to order oneof Betty's hot pots saying 'eeeee ya com a long way for noting!' Match postponed. We weren't having that, so en masse we stormed the stands in protest singing Rovers songs until Gerry Francis (and I think, Geoff Dunford) came out to plead calm.
That's the longest I've travelled for such a late postponement (apart from Bradford in 90s).
Replay I think we won 2-1 in one of the many consecutive 1-0 down, 2-1 up matches 1989/90..
Illness rules me out this one, I've never been to jjb or whatever it's called now.
Safe journey all travelling and as always, UptheGas!

I was in the ground when it was called off - and it was about quarter to three as you say.

26 Feb 1983. The amazing 5-0 away win at Springfield Park...aka the Alan Ball show ...was superb that afternoon on a dreadful pitch. We also beat them 4-0 at home that season. But only 3,228 saw this famous match goals from Graham Withey 2,Paul Randall 2 and Nicky Platnaeur. For me on a par with the 6-0 away win I saw at Reading.

Never been with Rovers but. In the late 70s we were on a coach going to Newcastle or Sunderland to see Rovers lose,we got way up north and then found out that the game had been cancelled, there were loads of other games called off too. So we headed to Maine road to watch Man City v Chelsea,as we were getting off the coach we were told by the police that the game had cancelled too. Someone (possibly Keysie) suggested going to Wigan v Stockport, that game did go ahead, there were fans from several clubs who ended up there too. All I remember is a huge social club and Stockports 'lads' trying to take the Wigan end,it got quite nasty and there only seemed to be 3 or 4 policemen in the ground. I made 2 decisions on the way back, one not to go to Springfield park again which I stuck to and the other not to travel to games by coach again which I have broken twice (and regretted).

Was on a coach pulling into the car park when the game was called off at Springfield Park. In the re-arranged game I was on the second coach that crashed into the first one. Unbelievably John Kayes managed to flag down a passing coach driver and get him to get hold of another coach to help us complete our trip (and paid him in cash there and then!) Those coaches were then held up when there was a large traffic jam on the M6 further north. We got to the game at half time and ended up losing 3-1. Not one of my favourite away day memories!
I have only been to the new place once and can't even remember the score. I do remember us playing there on another occasion when one of our strikers (Jason Roberts?) was blatantly rugby tackled by their keeper in the area and we didn't get a penalty!

We came out of the pub at 2:50 to find the game was off! Our driver wasn't too happy - he'd had a couple of pints so we were forced back into the pub while he sobered up We'd already been to the Rugby League ground by mistake - just headed towards the floodlights! Remember a 0-4 on Boxing Day - haven't cashed in the loyalty points for that one yet! 0-0 at half-time! And on the supporters club bus! Has there been a better away end than the grass bank at Wigan?

I remember listening to the game where we had four sent off on the radio and willing us to get a fifth because I thought it would be funny.
Never been to either ground and not going this time around.

Going to a local pub and discovering the landlord was former Great Britain rugby league captain Andy Gregory. Wasn't especially hungry but I ordered scampi and chips just so the ex Great Britain captain would have to suffer the indignity of serving me my dinner. When he brought it to me I said got any red sauce there again just so he had to shuffle off and fetch me a bottle of ketchup. Lost 3-0 and played rubbish but the chips were nice

Yes - I remember doing exactly the same thing. The only time I can ever remember Geoff Dunford doing a postmatch interview where he was about 2 seconds away from threatening physical violence to the ref. He got a disrepute charge for that too.

Alan Ball really did run the show and mentored Nicky Platnaeur in the midfield. I went into Wigan's 'clubhouse' after the game and within 10 minutes the whole team were in there celebrating - some still in their kit!

Didn't the rearranged game also get called off (from memory it was called off early before we'do left) and the John Kayes hire a coach game was the rearranged rearranged game?
