Would this formation play to our strengths tighten up the defence and give us some much needed width? We have options in many of the positions. How about this set up for next Saturday?
Either Goalkeeper,
Lockyer Sweeney Broadbent
Leads/Moore O Clarke/Sinclair Lines Sercombe Brown/Bola
Ellis/Rory/Nicholls Bodin
Certainly think we need to find a place for Tom Broadbent especially away from home. Would be interesting to see Moore wide right with Clarke/Sinclair providing cover and playing in their natural position.

It could possibly make a difference. Having watched the highlights though I would say that on balance the thing that would probably help most is if our players started playing less s**t.

If you look at 4 4 2 and we are supposed to have two players for each position then it looks something like GK Slocombe / Smith RB Leadbitter / Partington RC Lockyear / Burns LC Sweeney / Broadbent LB Brown / Bola RSM Bodin / Broom LSM Moore / ? CM 1 Lines / Sercombe CM2 Clarke / Sinclair CF1 Harrison / Gaffney CF2 Nicholls / Telford Others Clarke J looks weak out wide? Also lacking pace? can these players switch to 3 5 2 or 4 2 3 1 or ?

3-5-2 could work with decent wing-backs. Unfortunately I don't think we have any of those. We all know DC likes to tinker with formation, possibly forgetting that football is simple game for simple people. We had no shape Saturday. The more frequently DC changes his starting XI and formation - potentially the more confused the side becomes.

I agree that Broadbent should play,I would play him in a back 4 instead of Sweeney. Where are Partington and Burns ? they hardly seem to have played since they signed. DC said a few weeks ago that he still wanted a centre half ( that's Sweeney I suppose) a defensive midfielder,a left winger and a centre forward, still time left to make signings so lets hope that he gets them. I still think that with those 3 players this squad is capable of a top ten finish, there are a couple of weak links and I think that one is Moore. Also I wonder about the injuries to some players,Ollie Clark and Leadbitter are they fully fit ?
