There's no chance whatsoever Lansdown is going to move the rugby out of Ashton Gate now he's spent so much doing it up for top flight rugby. Which doesn't leave many other options for Gaslife's theory. Is it a theory or is he just interpreting UWEs public statement differently to how I would? UWE are not going to build a stadium without Rovers, it'd be a Useless White Elephant.

Bristol rugby sharing with the s**t at the same ground when money is of no consequence makes no sense something will change.

Depends on how SL wants the rugby club to develop, does he want it to have it's own identity, making it more independent and more attractive to potential investors? or does he want to continue running it as the little sister of BCFC? If the Lansdown family were to look to move away from both clubs the City are more attractive purchase than the rugby club by a country mile.

It certainly looks like the latter, if I were a rugby supporter I'd be incredibly worried about the long term future of the club.

It's becoming engulfed by Bristol Sport. What if someone were to come in and take over City? What would be for the rugby club then? They're just run as the football clubs smaller sibling, living off scraps from the football club. It's a sad situation but there's no identity there now.

that probably doesn't cost much and, in my view, probably isn't worth much and, if the debt is subject to completion of the sale of the Mem, probably isn't due. Although if it isn't subject to that, it does explain the charge on the Mem the debts are small amounts of money given the overall scale of things though - a few hundred thousand pounds. I'm struggling to believe that the family/DS would let things topple over for that so my guess is that the creditors have been winding people up, but won't be causing any company to be wound up The debt is nothing to do with the sell of the Mem and has nothing to do with ex directors if that's what you mean. Apparently Nick Higgs is due his final payment next month. Like you, although the companies accounts don't look pretty the family do have the ability to pay if they are willing to loan further amounts and I would be surprised if they didn't pay the debts soon. Just out of interest, does anyone know if NH and the other creditors have now been paid?

so... gasincider says that the stadium news isn't new, the only new thing is that it has got out (and thanks to Browner for putting it out there) there is 'internet noise' about worse to come/the club losing £1.6m and the owners wanting out Wael tweeting that he is still committed swissgas thinking/worrying about the £10m charge on the Mem - and Dwayne Sports' £4 in paid-up capital your theories please? What is £10 million to Billionaires? Ask Lansdowne, he can tell you

My theory is that Wael put together, as bankers do, an investment group to finance the UWE stadium and yes maybe some may have been Chinese, after all they are heavily invested in the west country already (the new Nuclear Power station) so why is it such a suprise to some that they may want to see a game or two.
Wael says he is still comitted, which is good enough for me.
