My marriage didn't make the paper anniversary by 2 months, quite sad really as paper would have come in handy for all those letters to the solicitor.
Which match in 78 was your first ? My first Rovers match was April 1st (67)....
League cup match before season started v Hereford at Eastville.....whom was yours against? Mine was against Peterborough.
I remember that League cup game against Hereford, thats when the first round was over 2 legs,Rovers won at home and got stuffed away (Hereford were a division below Rovers too),a bad night on and off the pitch.

Yea, I think we won 2-1. I remember little. I def recall the sand in North Enclosure whilst sat on the rail....think I was trying to build sandcastles!(?)

I haven't retired yet but I have been winding down for 8 or 9 years,I will arrange to be at training or at a job where theres no mobile reception for those Thursdays. We should all meet up for a drink again sometime.
I'm sure Chris will arrange something once the season starts had a good couple of hours with him after the millwall game 🍻🍻🍻

I think is actually a good idea. Any football club has a mixture of ages and types of supporter. So there is now the Young Pirates for under 16s and the Blue Diamonds for the over 50s, and fans can progress from one to the other over several decades of following the Gas.
I'm also pleased that Roger Brinsford has gopt the former players club up and running.
I didn't thing I qualified because I didn't go to Eastville regularly until 1969/70 season......then I remember I had been to a couple of games in 1967, so I do qualify!
