Iv recently moved to the north and people always laugh and look at me as if to say "who?" when I tell them. I live 30 mins from Gateshead and would love it if we take a big following and show them who we are! Highly unlikely though considering the distance. I'l always be proud to say im a gashead! Irene goodnight.

I'm a bit further south Northerngas.
Typical response I get here in NZ is, "So where is Bristol then?"
BTW: Welcome to the forum, hopefully it's a bit of Bristol for you in such hostile climes!

Don't worry, I've lived in Wales over 47 years and people still struggle to understand why I support Bristol Rovers, mind you after recent events even I'm beginning to wonder too

With the piss poor PR efforts from the club, I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone in Bristol asked who Rovers are.

I think our away game at Gateshead will see our smallest away following this coming season. This is because there are no trains direct to Bristol after the game. If anyone goes by plane, the next plane back to Bristol is Sunday evening. Of course, some might do for a week-end in Newcastle, but this would be exspensive. This is a game i want to go to. If i do, then i need to find some others who would go up in a car on the friday and come back sunday, which means 2 nights at a premier inn!

if it is on a weekend I would imagine we would have a half decent following. Apart from the new ground factor, a fair few will make a Newcastle weekend of it , plenty did at Hartlepool last year.

As long as it's on a weekend a few of us will make the journey to Gateshead away. Have a mate who lives in Newcastle, so a weekend on the piss. Hopefully we don't have to watch anything as dire as that s**te at Hartlepool earlier this year!!

This is the first game I had marked down for a serious weekend session. We may surprise a few people with a decent following.
