Absolutely - it is well known that his namesake is a city fan, so not a very clever attempt at subterfuge. Next season's super sub: terfuge.

If the posh get a decent defence in place with their recent signings up front they could well be knocking next season.

Haven't Posh signed defenders yet? Count them out then.

If ever other team in the league gets its defence and attack and midfield and goalkeeper sorted, and taking as read (despite all evidence to the contrary) that we won't and that things can only get worse, we're sunk. Best give up now. It's going to be a miserable summer looking ahead to this inevitable abject failure (which probably won't happen).

A pretty uninspiring list so far. Miller is a bit of a gamble at L1 level, might do ok might just crash & burn again. The Stockport lad is from Gloucester City level....!! Lee Angol & Dave Mirfin are two good signings for Mansfield in L2 but would we be celebrating if we signed them, probably not!! lts wait & see.

Id have had Youri Tielemans, reckon he would be a tidy player in League 1. It does show a lack of ambition from the club. Didn't WAQ look at clubs in Belgium before buying us. So surely he has contacts that could have sorted this deal for us. #WengerOut

Miller maybe a gamble but on a free transfer a very small gamble. Unless you see us paying for a proven goalscorer then any forward we bring in is going to be a gamble and I think you have a better chance with the gamble if you're picking from the widest pool of players rather than a last minute gamble in August when you picking over everyones leftovers. Still that just my opinion.

Have P'boro signed two players? Seriously the players legs are still aching from the end of season; I'm going on holiday until July (figuratively) as all of this is stuff is just crud and causes unnecessary angst.
Nobody actually knows, so wait and see, and you may not need to over worry about Posh getting 2 non league players just as the play-offs have finished.

Still that just my opinion. A likely sizeable three year contract for a 28 year old unproven in the football league is a big gamble I would say. Plenty have scored goals for fun in the Conference and struggled to make the step up so not a given he'll score goals for them. Trust DC. He knows what he is doing.

I know this thread is meant to be a joke but I will be desperately disappointed if we don't sign a bit of quality this summer,im'e not holding my breath though I read in the WDP last week that we were interested in a non league player and our friends from the south side were checking out a player from La Liga. Nothing ever changes.

I remember when i pissed my pants with excitement over signing a Faroe Island international because he had one of those funny letters in his name, id much rather sit back and let the backroom staff earn their money.

Surely most business will be conducted next month as alot of contracts are up end of June?
So why panic now?
Everyone knows dc plays cards close to chest. If he is interested in a particular player, they'll know by now. If they wanna join, great....if not, so what?
There'll be other options.
Haven't lost a wink of sleep with who's gone where so far. There's nothing wrong with speculation, my faith is firmly placed in dc. When the time's right, we'll know..

DC does know what he's doing, but sometimes he takes a long time doing it. Like a stuck record, I'm going to say that I want a settled team going into the start of the season not March, but many players are 'still under contract' and so not available, the released players have been released for a reason. There's no point chucking money and/or long contracts at unproven players. DC should read something in those players he speaks to who would rather wait for possible other offers. We've had three good seasons with DC - the boy's done good.

DC should read something in those players he speaks to who would rather wait for possible other offers. We've had three good seasons with DC - the boy's done good. Agree with most of that. Yes players who are released are released for a reason and we don't necessarily want those. But there's that other group who've been offered contracts at the end of their present one with the club wanting to keep them and (like Taylor last year) are waiting to see what other offers are coming in. I suspect that DC will have some of those on his radar. If you do most of your business in May I think you'll pay over the odds for some, DC is probably needing to get value for his money so will wait a bit longer. Whatever it is I trust DC to do the business, like you say the boy's done good! UTG!

Early last summer DC said in an interview that he wanted to sign 4 quality players to go with the squad that won promotion,I thought that sounded good but Moore,Hartley and James didn't really do that well. DC recently gave a list of positions that he wants players for and again it sounds good,we will have to wait and see what the players that he brings in are like. I still think that Bodin will go but at least Rovers will get a fee for him, problem is that DC then has to find someone as good to replace him,but again we will have to wait and see as I might be wrong and BB might stay, lets hope so.
