No, the West Stand should be the first to go. Before the Tent, even. Horrible stand. If you are building piece by piece, it can not go first. It has the dressing rooms and tings in it. On the 90 degree plan the East Stand has to go first, you can then build the stand behind the terracing, then in the close season demolish the terracing, move the pitch and look at the South stand. Wasn't the original plan to build a new stand behind the east stand first before doing any demolition? And possibly something along the sides too - the memory's a bit vague now.

I can't remember. but certainly the pitch was to be moved a small distance to the North East to allow for an enlarged West Stand. As conclusively proven by Dr JD, a 20K+ stadium is easily doable within the Memorial Stadium land footprint. It would be compact and LOUD, perfect for us I would say.
All that is required is the perfect design (easy), planning permission (also easy), and funding (erm, not so easy...).
I just hope that they mean what they say and that they have the ability to make it happen. I don't know if I can go through another stadium rollercoaster ride :-(
