How about the new Galatasaray shirt as a template, using blue and white? Would look superb. No thanks.

By the very nature of playing "in quarters" the kit should be made up of four "equal or equivalent" parts.

This is the thing.
When you have a dull and unimaginitive shirt, like 'red', for example, I can see why you'd want to make it a bit more distinctive. Then again, albeit blue - a nicer colour altogether - Everton and Chelsea always make that look good by keeping it simple.
With us, we're fortunate in having something distinctive and classic, so stick with that. There's no need to try and make it look interesting: it already is. Don't make a dog's breakfast out if it. Blue and white quarters: that's it. Job done.
I'll sit out and accept the outcome (I have preferences, but wouldn't die in a ditch for them) the order of the quarters, and the dual death spirals of the shorts and socks conundra.

To me the problem is to balance the sponsor's logo (along with manufacturer's etc) with the identity of the strip, in our case the quarters. The Sportsman kit, for example, was good and allowed the quarters to stand out, in my view, whereas some logs have been too intrusive. Oh for the good old days of no logos.
