On Peterborough's official site: "The football club can confirm that the Motorpoint Stand will be used by Bristol Rovers fans on 22nd April.
Peterborough United host Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday 22nd April at the ABAX Stadium (3pm) and the Motorpoint Stand will be occupied by away fans only.
The club have been informed by Police intelligence that Rovers could bring in excess of 3,000 supporters with a chance of making the play-offs. As a result, and following advice from the Police and safety authorities, we have made the decision to give Bristol Rovers the Motorpoint Stand.
Season ticket holders in the Motorpoint Stand have been notified by letter and invited to move their seat to another position in the stadium free of charge". Link to Peterborough's Website

This season has really thrown up some weird seating arrangement scenarios!
We've gone from extreme of shoehorning fans into one section at Port Vale; to sit where you want at Scunthorpe; to ticket fiasco when only 25% of whole ground used at Coventry; to now moving season ticket holders out of their seat to potentially accommodate us at Peterborough?
I'm sure all of them have reasons, but they're bull$hit reasons, and all wrong!

I will be EXTREMELY happy for you to remind me of this if you see me at a Rovers play off game this season.

It's good planning. We could not do the same cus seats are usually sold out.

I agree with Rex in that I don't think it will happen but.......if it did.......we would certainly take 3000 there. However, not knowing the layout of the stadium, if they were then only able to offer us say 2000 tickets meaning many were disappointed, and we got there to see loads of empty seats dotted around the place I'm sure someone would be asking why didn't they move some home fans to accomodate us. I think they've done it properly by advising their ST holders in advance. But where Rovers are concerned this sort of well thought out advance planning is usually the kiss of death. Didn't Kidderminster do the same when we played there a few years ago? I seem to recall their Chairman making a statement along the lines of it was too good a revenue opportunity to turn down. UTG.

As long as they are looked after then, as I said everybody wins! UTG I'm pretty sure there have been a few occasions when South Stand ST holders have had to move elsewhere. I think it's part of the terms and conditions for that stand, in the event of a sell out game where away fans take up their full allocation.

I think it's part of the terms and conditions for that stand, in the event of a sell out game where away fans take up their full allocation. If a club chooses to displace loyal supporters that have stumped their hard earned up for a season against their will, the clubs' loyalty falls way below the loyalty shown to them by the said supporter. So fair to say there may be some level of contempt. And rightly so, whatever the technicality in terms of season ticket purchase. Just think there would be a few dissenting voices if we tried the same thing, and rightly so...
