Hoping that when we kick off next season in August Joe is in goal. Preferably a permanent signing too. He's made such a difference and he can dance!! His signing was a turning point in our season imo

Agreed. Although I don't like loaning goalkeepers at all, if there's a chance to get Lumley on a permanent basis I'd jump at it.

Fat chance, I would think. But, hope springs eternal and all that. How the heck he knew where that free-kick was going yesterday, from behind the wall, I don't know. What a save!

He is big, tall & a bit gangly if that's a real word but his speed of decision making and ability to get down to low shots or up into the corner to tip one over the bar are quite astounding.
Really hope he decides to continue his career here!

It would be a statement of intent if we even officially approached the subject.
For me, the best thing is his positioning.
He always seems to be in the right place, right time to stand a chance of saving everything. Or at least put off imminent attacks.
That's not forgetting his excellent organisation around set pieces. Twice yesterday soufend had wo dangerous free kicks in almost succession....both times he successfully dealt with it with no fuss. It inspires confidence.
He's exactly what we've been missing (experience, apart). But Lumley plays with so much maturity, we hardly notice he's in his infancy in goalkeepers terms.
And with Thatchers End endorsing him with LUMLEY IS A GAS HEAD yesterday, he's quickly becoming a saviour. I will be interests to see how he'll deal with his first pen awarded against?!
Well done Ollie. Well done dc.

I hadn't realised how little first team experience he has (until just looking it up). That includes quite a few non-appearing loan spells. He must be loving this - first team regular and highly thought of. Good for him. That must count for something if he has any say in what happens next: ever present in a good set-up in league 1, or returning to a championship club's reserves and hoping his day will come.

I think he'll be crossing his fingers that we'll keep him rather than the other way around. Very good point SS, I'm sure JL would not want to return to the QPR bench or be loaned out to a lower league club essentailly regressing from his achievements with us this season.

I said before I think we'd have a good shot at keeping him. He is 3rd choice behind 2 good keepers. I wouldn't be surprised if we got him on a season long loan next season, which I think would be a wise move. If there is still no clear path to the QPR no.1 spot for him after that, I think he'd be looking to sign for us anyway. You never know, we could even be in the same league!
