I normally don't really care about MOTM or seasonal player awards, I can't remember the last time I cast a vote when I have had the chance to. However, if I had the chance to vote this season I definitely would. Social media- and that includes forums like this- has led to many players at varying clubs being written off as crap by people- like me- who could only dream of playing at the level these blokes play at. One such player was Ollie Clarke. If DC had released him, I don't think many of us would have batted an eyelid, I certainly wouldn't have, I thought he was the weak link in our team. Well what the f**k do I know, Ollie Clarke- my player of the season.

Good question, rex!
I think Lines has been my man of season so far.
Ollie 2nd.
Sincs should be recognised in some way.
Sweeney and Lums the January onwards players that really have made impact.
But as always, things are up for grabs and I get a feeling some others can make a contribution. Who knows? James. Ellis. Bodin. Moore. Montana. ....anyone can make an impact and propel us upwards?
Great team and brilliant performances and achievements so far.

I'm surprised nobody ever wrote a player off or discussed who they thought was crap before the advent of social media. Ollie Clarke or Chris Lines are the only two in the running for me at this stage. Too early to name a winner though.

I THINK Sinclair will win, but I would concur with Ollie Clarke at this moment in time

If he isn't player of the season he is certainly the most improved player this season, & plenty have improved this season.

It just shows that there really is some value in sticking with players especially when they're young. Sometimes it really does just suddenly 'click' - confidence, physical development, mental approach, maybe the system of play. All kinds of variables. I think sometimes we forget that players can get better or can fit in better to some teams than others. Robbie Ryan for example was a more or less complete bust with us but was a semi-legend with Millwall - the context and playing style can matter a great deal to whether a player is effective or not. It's not all about ability.

Obviously it happened, but nowhere near to the extent it does today. An awful lot of people form their opinions based on what they think is the 'right' opinion to have and that is exacerbated by social media.

It's not all about ability. Agree with that, but probably right to point out that with Ollie Clarke being 25 this year, he's not some kid that needed to mature a little straight after coming out of the youth team. Like a few other people I saw 24 year old Ollie Clarke struggling with the step up in the first half of this season, so I'm thrilled at the second half of the season he's having, because if he hadn't been able to do that, he might have been looking at a drop down for the rest of his career.

As things stand ...
1/ Chris Lines - Mr Consistently good all season. Can't remember him having an off day and you expect everyone to have one at some point. At times has been class.
2/ Stuart Sinclair. - Mr Versatile. At the very least has always done the job asked of him. That includes: central midfield; wide of a midfield 4; right back; just behind the front 2, and his current role of in front of the central midfield / supporting the 1 up front / chasing down the defenders / pressing all over the pitch. Yet there are still some who say he is all effort, but no skill - I guess they missed him cutting in from the left wing against Scunthorpe, weaving round 3 defenders (Bodin style) before cracking a shot that unfortunately (for him and the person it hit!) was deflected away.
3/ Ollie Clarke. - Mr Improved. Would probably be No.1 had the season started in January! Chips in with his share of goals too. It shows how it's not just partnerships for strikers that are important. Lines and Clarke right now are an excellent pairing and compliment each other very well.

If we're being serious, I can't see beyond Matty Taylor and his vital goals.
