Good luck to the club with this endeavour. But really? How can the secrecy of a release-clause can be enforced online? Or offline. It's tapping up, but standard procedure. The buying club could always ask the player euphemistic questions. And God knows, even we speculated on the release clause before. I'm not defending Taylor or BS1982. I just don't understand how to prevent this happening. Is this what was hinted at on the other thread?

A member of the Johnson clan going about things in an underhand way? Surely not.

They only had to look on the forum to work out it might be worth offering £300k!

Looks like that explains why Hamer was going on about Turncoat insisting the he wanted the move to that club.
What a scabby organisation 1982 truly is. Making Bristol Proud........
The shame of this is that, as far as I was aware, away from terrace banter and beer talk, Rovers and 1982 have had a good working relationship for a number of years, guess that's out the window now?

Yeah a good relationship, while we were struggling and the gap was huge.

Wasnt 300k banded about the forums back in the summer when he signed. Without any of us really knowing, it didnt appear to be a secret.
Dont expect anything to come of anything. Probably as much 'our' fault.
Doesnt always pay to be ITK
Well i guess it will give the s**theads something else to laugh at us about if nothing else

In hindsight if they made the trigger £301K then it may have been a better indication of insider knowledge.

This is a waste of time, if we can afford to complain to the FA about conduct then we must have time on our hands.
Taylor has done Rovers very well, three seasons of goals, $300k and proof that we are a club for players who want to improve. He's now off the conveyor belt and it's time for the next person to step up.
Taylor scored a lot of penalties and benefited from a team shape that was adjusted to him. At the s**tpit he'll have none of that plus he'll have a manager eager to blame his shortcomings on anyone but himself. Taylor will be at Oxford in two season's time.

300k might have been mentioned on here and the other forum (btw I heard the other forums' members are all in bed by 9 and still cry at the end of watership down) but that doesn't mean anyone knew the release figure for sure. It was all speculation and a best guess estimate. Go make a complaint I say and let the FA investigate and stir things up a bit

It was all speculation and a best guess estimate. Go make a complaint I say and let the FA investigate and stir things up a bit It doesn't mean £300k was the figure at the time it was talked about (but appears it was accurate now). City take a punt for whatever reason/motives and who can blame them?
It's probably as much the fault of loose lips at Rovers and In The Know's. May all have been speculation but gave an opportunity for City (or anyone else) to take a punt. The worst case for them was it wasn't the figure. The only thing I go back to is literally no one else took a gamble on him for whatever reason after another half season of goals
We have nothing to win here and can probably make ourselves look as daft as we have ever been in some respect pursuing it.

None of us, for sure knows what went on - who said what to who and when........ if there is no foundation we would surely not have asked the FA to investigate?

They've asked because they think something was untoward.....fair enough to me. Probably nothing for the arrogant tossers to answer but no harm in making Taylor aware people are unhappy with his decisions.

The dirty conniving sh*ts. Always knew something smelled wrong about that lot.
Although last time we asked for investigation, it didn't go our way....let's hope for a positive outcome this time.

I was hoping the club would spend more time on securing a new home/new player etc than wasting time on this

Any truth in rumour as a gesture of good will City have agreed to a pre season friendly at the Mem for Peter Aitken's Testimonial and have agreed to fund the police bill !

the complaint wont be against the 82ers ... will be about Taylor and his Agent they are the only ones that can have spilt the info. I hate that lot as much as the rest but they just acted on info that was leaked .
Taylors agent/ Johnson mate Tam Byrne is not linked to Lyall Thomas of Sky sports is he ? (lyall thomas broke the news of the 300k trigger on twitter sometime ago)
i suspect Byrne will get slapped wrists from the FA but that will be it
